Educator Standards

1. Instructional Planning and Delivery


Design clear well organized sequential lessons that are appropriate and
standard driven. They will meet the needs of diverse learners and must be
communicated clearly. The plans must promote complex higher order
thinking while having checks in place to monitor understanding while giving
feedback.
2. Knowledge of Students and Student Learning
You must demonstrate the belief that all students have high potential. Use
background information to engage students while facilitating learning by
evidence based practices and concepts.
3. Content Knowledge and Expertise
You must execute quality lessons that are aligned with state standards
consisting of major concepts and key themes.
4. Learning Environment
A safe and supportive environment will be maintained. Respect will be
expected at all times. The classroom and activities will be organized and well
thought out. Consistent routines with clear expectations will enable students
to be engaged, focused, and on task.
5. Data Driven Practice
Data will be collected and used to monitor and assess student progress. This
data will be collected by formal and informal methods as well as individual
and group goals will be tracked.
6. Professional Practices and Responsibilities
Teach using your own strengths and background. Collaborate with your peers.
Seek out opportunities for furthering education and professional
development. Be respectful while having high moral and ethical standards.
