    Duringthisprocess,theUnitedStatesresistedtheallowanceofrefugeesintothecountry.Iam
    HannahCastillo,afifteenyearoldstudentreadingaboutthehorrorsofNazi,Germany,now
    studyingthesituationofrefugeesbeingdeniedintotheUnitedStates.Icompletelydisagreewith
    thecurrentlawmakersdecisionsregardingtherefugeecrisis.Ibelieveitisamainhuman
    purposetohelpothersinneed,especiallyinasituationasdramaticandseriousasthedangerin
    Syria.

    Syriascivilwarcanbeperceivedastheworsthumanitariancrisisofmodernera.Morethan
    elevenmillionpeoplehavebeeneitherkilledorforcedtofleetheirhomes.Thefullblowncivil
    warhaskilledover220,000people(SyriaSun).ThereisamassdiversityinvolvingtheUnited
    Statesrescuingrefugeesbybringingthemintothecountry.
    Apparentlythey(theRepublicans)
    arescaredofwidowsandorphanscomingintotheUnitedStatesofAmerica,thepresidentsaid
    (TribuneNewsService).Becauseofthisindecisiveness,themajorityofrefugeesareobligatedto
    liveinJordanandLebanon.MoreSyrianswereabletoescapeintoNorthernIraqbutbecame
    trappedbyitsownconflict(SyriaSun).

    TheSyrianrefugeecrisisiseerlysimilartotheWWIIrefugeecrisisinvolvingtheJews.Both
    periodsweredramaticallysparkedbydiscriminationagainstreligion.Mostcountrieswereafraid
    ofrefugeescomingin,facingthedangerofaterroristorviolentasneakingin.
    TheJewsdidnot
    poseanythreattotheU.S....It'sreallyunforgivable(AdamGeller)FortheSyrians,
    the
    governorsresistingtherefugeeresettlementsimplydonottrustObamasclaimthatallofthe
    refugeeswillbecheckedoutextremelycarefully.Neitherdoesthepublic(TribuneNews
    Service),displayingthisfearofdangersomehowsneakingintotheUnitedStates.Bothcrises
    involvetheUnitedresistingthewelcomeofrefugeesfromtroubledsocieties.TheU.S.
    governorsrefusingtoacceptSyrianrefugeesare...morallywrong(TribuneNewsService).

    Icompletelydisagreewiththelawmakersdecisiontonotallowthemin.Americasfoundationis
    libertyandfreedom,somethingtheSyriansdeserveentirely.TheSyriansdonotposeadirect
    threattothecountryoritscitizens.
    ThegovernmentsfearthatIslamicStatefighterswillsneak
    inamongtherefugees,isnotjustified.
    TheU.S.refugeescreeningprocessisextremelydifficult
    togetthrough(TribuneNewsService).
    Inthischoice,thegovernment
    isalsohelpingIslamic
    State(TribuneNewsService).Thereisnotruefactarguingingtheirrescue.

    ThesituationinSyriaisverydramaticandviolent,leadingtoanecessitytoberescued.Our
    countryisbasedoffofliberty,asitsaysintheConstitution.Thissituationeerlyresemblesthe
    Holocaust,aterribleexperienceforanyhumantogothrough.Itismostimportanttohavean
    objectiveofnotallowinghistorytorepeatitself.Iwouldlikeyoutoconsidernotonlysupporting
    thisdecisionbutactuallyallowingSyrianrefugees,potentiallysavingthousandsoflives.It
    wouldbeidealandcrucialforyoutosupportthis.Thankyouforyourtime.
