While finalizing the learning styles assessment, I found myself concur with learning
style. I scored a three on the active/reflective learning style which means I am balanced between
the two. Afterward, I scored a seven on the sensing/intuitive learning style leaning more in the
direction of the sensing side. Next, I scored a three on the visual/verbal learning style, meaning I
am balanced between both. Also, I scored a three on the sequential/global learning also meaning
I am balanced between these two as well. I already realize that I was a very versatile learner, and
this demonstrates the truth of my thoughts to be correct. Determined by the kind of activity that I
am taking part in or type of project will determine on how I learn effectively from the situation.
When I read different parts of the book discussing what it means to be on the sensing side of the
sensing-intuitive style, I hold the same view with the assessment of myself for this. The textbook
states that people at the sensing end prefer factual information and often enjoy the particular
material.
They typically tend to choose foreseeable, replicable method of analysis and application.
Frequently meticulous and reliable, sensing learners may reflect exceptional common sense
and can without difficulty remember facts, figures, routines, and protocols. This describes
exactly how I am. I considerably rely on established one when it comes to my life as well as
learning skills; I also am resplendent with numbers and protocols. For me, this evaluation was
very precise of my learning abilities that I use on a daily basis. The next evaluation I finalized
was the self-assessment of social work knowledge survey. Using this assessment, I have found
that I have a capability of understanding most of the social work. I did find myself on the high
end of the scale when it comes to community and organizations.
This did not surprise me, I primarily have been concentrating on interpersonal social
work. I found myself feeling more comfortable with community and organizations, I enjoy doing

more with this area of social work. I did my internship working with the homeless and lowincome family, where I was practicing case management. In this internship, I facilitate helpful
conversations and relationship building with clients, gaining information with the client through
leading questions, doing an initial assessment and information release for new clients, preparing
homeless verification letters, input casework data into the HMIS system daily, and count
casework notes from the month. I find that I am more comfortable with individuals, families,
small groups, and communities. I also become aware of that I find myself more knowledgeable
with this particular population such as mental and behavioral disorders, Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual, intervention process, and counseling.
I feel that this may be because of my background in the psychological characteristics as
well as the many things I have learned from the human behavior and social environment class.
This evaluation was a reality for me, revealing to me my strong skills with communication in a
macro environment. I also discover find out more about things that I am not as familiar with such
as foster care and how to deal with them as a social worker. By doing this, I will expand my
knowledge about how to work with this population and make myself more aware and
comfortable if I am put in the situation.
