Teacher Self-Appraisal:
The workshop went really well. I achieved what I had planned for. We got 3 plates
printed, did a lot of teaching and the students did a lot of learning. Two weeks ago I was
struggling with teaching this scheme and I felt that the students werent learning because
I was inadequate in my teaching. Had a chat with Maria and observation with Aine.
Introduced new way of exploring design and concept. These conversations really helped,
as did my conversations with members of my community of practice and watching Barrys
teaching demo. It all came together in this workshop, which coincided with an observation
by Prof. Glen Coutts, accompanied by Maria. Lucky was I, as Maria operated the camera
so the whole class could be filmed. I looked back at the video and noticed that some of
the students who usually asked questions when they did not know what happening were
intent on the action and one got to prepare the paper. She really seemed engaged.
Now need to match the students in the buddy system to start a print run tomorrow.
More water tanks at the sinks. Three stations and one varnishing station.
