Please use the space below (preferably in English) to write a page of answering one of the following

1. Your contribution to the enrichment of Canadian society (e.g. volunteering or taking a leadership

How you responded to a significant cultural challenge that you've encountered and what you
learned in the process.

I came to Canada last summer. At first, I had troubles in adjusting to

the time difference. Also I missed my family so much. I cried every
night. It was painful.
The first day, I went to school. I did not know anything. I did not know
where my classroom is and what my homework is. I had no idea about my new
school life. Sometimes I took another class because I could not find my
classroom.
I was confused. I also did not have any friends. I could not find any Korean
friends. I was sad and lonely and I wanted to go back to Korea. I missed
my family and friends. However, I knew that I had to adjust to this new life, not
missing the people in Korea any more.
I visited Korea during the winter and spring break. Actually I regretted the visits
because I became to miss them more than before. It was very hard for me to
forget them and focus on my studying..
I read the Bible and I listened to worship songs to forget the time that I had with
my family in Korea. I am not sad any more.
Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life
meaningful. I like this famous saying because it gives me courage to live in
Canada.
