There a many different ways of storing computer data, or memory.
Floppy Disk: A square like disc shape that is used to store data.
DVD: An optical disk used to store movies.
CD: An optical disk used to store music.
USB: A small device that can hold up to a few gigabytes of data.
Hard Drive: A device that is built into the computer that can store
data.
Cloud Storage: Cloud is an online storage device.

Floppy disk
A floppy disk is a square like shape disc that can store data on it.
Floppy discs store data by magnetically re-arranging the material. It
reads it by sensing the re-arrangement of the magnetic material
and translating it into code.
The floppy disc was invented by Alan Shugart in 1967.
The floppy disc got its name because of how flexible it was and how
eas7y it was to bend without breaking.

D VD /CD
A DVD/CD is an optical disc shape that stores data on it such as
movies/music.
A DVD/CD stores data by shooting a laser beam up at a mirror
which reflects it to a certain point on the disc which then reflects
the light back to a photo detector which then turns that light into
electrical energy which projects images onto the monitor.
The DVD was invented by Phillips, Sony, Toshiba and Panasonic in
1955. The CD was invented by James Russell in 1982.
CD/DVD:

U SB
The USB is a small device used to store data on it. It can store
numerous amounts of data.
The USB stores data by using tiny little switches inside the device
which are activated by electricity. Since there are no moving parts it
is noiseless.
The USB was invented by Dov Moran and co developed by Ajay
Bhatt in 1944.
USB:

H ard D rive
A hard drive is a device used to store data and is built into some
devices but can also be purchased and used externally.
A Hard Drive works by using a shiny plate called a platter which has
billions of tiny areas. Using magnetism we can change these areas
into ones (1) and zeros (0) Other wise known as switches or on
and off.
The Hard Drive was invented by Reynold Johnson in 1957.

Cloud Storage
Cloud Storage is an online storage device that can digitally store
data.
The cloud stores data by sending the information you are saving to
servers and you can use these saved files from these servers
whenever you want.
The cloud was invented by Joseph Carl Robnett Lickliderin the
1960s.
