Beyond:
Post a list of questions on the doc camera.
Go over the questions.
Give students about 3 minutes to answer some of the questions with the
group and then discuss the answers as a class.
Where is Cooper at the beginning of the story?
What does Coopers mother explain while they are waiting for
Webster?
How old is Webster?
What kind of dog is Webster?
After we have answered the questions explain to the students that they are
going to be keeping a response journal every day in their chromebooks.
Open up a new document Title it Webster response journal and write
todays date.
Journal Question- (Remember a time when you were reunited with a loved
one. Write about your experience. What were the circumstances? What
happened when you were reunited? How did you feel? What did you do?
Reflection:
Overall this lesson went very well. The students seemed to really enjoy
the first part of the story that we will be reading over the next couple
days. The students were engaged in the discussion and brought some
meaningful ideas to the table. If I were to do the lesson over again, I
would write out my own answer to the journal question to show the
students. Some of the students had a difficult time coming up with an
idea to talk about, and if I would have provided them with an example
these difficulties could of potentially been avoided.
