Staff Nurse II- Ambulatory Care


Description
RN II provides care to patients through the use of self, environment, medical
instruments, and other staff members. They assume responsibility of a group of
patients for a designated amount of time.
Essential Functions

Collect date in an on-going systemic manner, involve the family, and


advocate for patients.
Creates a goal-directed plan of care.
Provides care in a consistent, skill manner.
Prioritizes patient care based on essential need and availability of resources
Is aware of and sensitive to family/patient rights, age specific needs, cultural
and ethical beliefs. Acts to meet patient/family learning needs.
Creates effective working relations with staff members, patients and families.
Acknowledges staff cultural and ethical beliefs.
Evaluates the effectiveness of care given by team members.
Practices responsibility and accountability of owns professional work.
Shows a knowledge of legal practices like patient confidentiality and risk
management.
Participates in nurse activities when requested
Effectively identifies and solves problems
Provides data for staffing decisions and practices flexibility
Proficiently uses computers and telecommunication items for documenting,
tracking, and conveying information.
Fulfills expectations required of a specific job.
This job has no supervisory condition.

Basic Qualifications

6 months experience as a registered nurse


1 year of experience in a call center, ambulatory or inpatient acute care, long
term care, case management or home health.
High School Diploma/GED
Candidates in training are required to obtain certification in the designated
timeframe for a particular field of practice.
Graduate of accredited registered nursing program and completion of current
hours required by the BSN of RN student clinical experience.
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in California

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification of health care providers


Demonstrate knowledge of the RN scope of practice.
Demonstrate commitment to service orientation
Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills
Good interpersonal skills

Skills Testing

Computer skills and data entry will be assessed via a Call Center Assessment
Test
