President's Note - Tia Merwin

Event Spotlight: April Member Social

The past week has reminded me of how important family is and how
important it is to make time for family. I'm so thankful to get to stay at
home with my kids and spend as much time as possible with them each
day.

McKenzie Martial Arts came to our April Member Social and created fun
activities for the kids. They set up an obstacle course andhad the kids
try some kicks, hits and dodging and weaving. It was so much fun!

Most of us are stay at home moms and that is why MOMS Club was
founded. To give stay at home moms activities to do during the day with
their children and to meet other moms. That's why all of our activities are
during the daytime other than our monthly MOMS Night Out.
MOMS Club stands for Moms Oering Moms Support. That is the goal of
our club. We want to help each other thru the ups and downs of
parenthood and the day to day struggles and successes. It's been great
to see questions asked in the Facebook group about preschools, alarm
clocks, and family friendly events.
I hope you don't just make friends for your children, but also life long
friendships with other moms. I've been reminded this week of how
precious and short life can be. Make the most of it. Make friends, spend
time with your family and loved ones. Life goes by so quickly.

Helping Hands Program

Part of the support we have in MOMS Club of Eugene is helping each
other during times of family additions, upheaval, andstress. This is not
just limited to having a baby, things like moving or illness in the family
also warrant a need for this program. Our Helping Hands program
provides moms with assistance, usually givingseveral meals in a time of
need. However, this program can provide more than just meals. We
can arrange assistance with childcare, running errands, even a phone
tree! We want all of our members tobenet from this program in a time
of need and we are more than willing to customize an
assistanceschedule that works well for each situation. Please let us know
if a circumstance should arise in your life and you feel this program

Joined in April:

This recipe is enough for approximately six small 1.5 ounce popsicles.
Double the recipe if you have bigger molds.
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
*Stir rst three ingredients until all the cocoa powder is combined with
the syrup.
1 c plain whole milk yogurt
1 c whole milk
* Add last two ingredients and stir until combined. Pour into Popsicle
molds and freeze until solid. Enjoy!
