2016/2017 Team Info.
Tuition: Tuition will be due by the 1" of every month and will be considered late on the 7" of
every month. A $10 late fee will be applied to any late payments. A 5% discount will be given
for a full tuition payment made by Oct 1°. The first tuition payment is due August 22°, this will
be prorated 50% of your monthly tuition for the 2 weeks of August. The last tuition payment is
due May 1°
‘Team Fees: Team fees cover all costumes, competition fees, extra practices, banquet fees for
students, accessories, performance fees, and prop fee. They can be paid in one of three ways:
1. One full payment due by October 1*
2. Two equal payments: one due by October 1, 2016 and the other due by February 1,
2017.
3. Nine equal monthly payments from August-April. Monthly team fees are due on the 25"
of each month and will be considered late by the 1° with a $10 late fee. The first
payment will be due August 25, 2016 and the last payment will be due April 25, 2017.
Registration: Complete registration form and return it with $30 registration fee by August 22°
Team members will not be allowed to practice with their teams until registration forms and
team contracts are turned in and fees are paid. For a family with multiple children, the second
child will pay $20, and the third will pay $10 for their registration fee. No family registration fee
will exceed $60.
Newsletters: There will be a monthly newsletter emailed out to each family during the first
week of every month. Please make sure to read through these very carefully, so you do not
miss any important information. Newsletters can also be found on our blog,

Facebook page or at the front desk
Referral: You will receive $20 account credit for every new student you refer to Gravity Dance
Center (new fall 2016 students only and cannot be your own child),
‘Attendance Requirements: Only 3 absences per year will be allowed for any one class. On the
4® absence, the dancer will be placed on probation. If the class missed is a team class, then the
dancer will be placed on probation, and will not be able to perform with their team on the next
performance. If the class missed is a technique class, the dancer will be placed on probation
until the class is made up. Every absence needs to be excused before class. Any unexcused class
must be made up. When making up a class, you must get a signed note from the instructor who
teaches the makeup class and turn it in to your regular teacher to prove you took the class. To
excuse an absence you must contact Meggan directly to make note of this.
Ballet Attire: All dancers must wear a black leotard, pink tights, and ballet shoes. No shorts or
skirts will be allowed in ballet class. Hair must be in a tight bun, with no hair hanging in the face.
No jewelry should be worn in any dance class. It is very important to keep a professionalatmosphere in the classroom, and for the instructors to be able to see the lines of their
students
Dance Class Attire: In any other class, excluding hip hop, dancers must be in clothing that is.
form fitting, so the instructor can make corrections to their technique. No baggy clothing will be
allowed in these classes. Hair also needs to be pulled up out of the face at all times.
Competition: All Competition teams will attend and compete at 4 competitions. These
competitions will be held in the months of March, April and May. Extra practices for
competitions will be held in the months of January, February, March, and December for some
teams.
Epic Dance Convention: Held on August 26" and 27" 2016. All company members, Equinox,
Spectrum and Nova will be required to attend the convention. We highly suggest all others
team members as well. The cost of Epic is $200 that will be due June 16". If needed we can split,
this into 3 payments during the summer. The payment plan will go as follows, $75 due by June
16", $75 due by July 15", and $50 due by August 1".
Company: Dancers on a company will take a variety of extra classes to help them further their
dance technique. They will attend all 4 competitions as well as 2 conventions. They will be
competing half of their dances at one convention and half at the other. Conventions will be a
full weekend event, possibly Thursday, where our dancers will get the opportunity to take
classes from big names in the dance world.
‘Any dancer who wishes to be on a company, but is not selected to be on one this year, may
take the extra technique classes, and participate in the convention to help them prepare for
next season’s company,
Fundraising: We will be having two different fund raisers during the year to help any dancers
who want to help pay for tuition.

Extra Classes: Any class that a dancer would like to participate in that is not already part of th
schedule can be added for a reduced price.

Being on a team at Gravity Dance Center is a big commitment. Participation on a team is a
privilege, not a right. As a member of our teams, you represent our dance/cheer program; and
your conduct and actions in the classroom, on the dance floor, and in the community should
not deviate from the regulations and code of conduct set forth in our team/company contract.
Team members must show determination, dedication, and desire to be a productive member of
Gravity Dance Center.
Practice Etiquette and Behavior: One verbal warning will be given for any unruly behavior in
practice. This includes: talking, non-participation, or any behavior disruptive to the team. A
dancer will be asked to leave practice in lieu of any other warning. NO CELL PHONES OR FOOD
IN CLASSROOMS. If a teacher sees a cell phone out during practice, it will be confiscated until
the end of class.
: At Gravity Dance Center, there is a level of commitment required to be a part of a
team. You must have a desired level of commitment not just for yourself, but for your entire
team. Being on a team, you depend on all of your teammates to be at practice consistently and
do their part in having the knowledge of your routine. If at any time you are not doing your part
as a productive member of a team, you will be put on probation
Problems/issues: We expect everyone representing Gravity Dance Center to be positive and
uplifting. if you do have a problem, we need to know in order to help resolve the situation.
Performances/Competitions: On your performance/competition schedule, there will be an
arrival time listed. Dancers must be at the performance by the arrival time. Dancers must arrive
dressed in full uniform, hair and makeup completed, Members may not wear jewelry oF nail
polish during a performance. Uniforms must be kept clean and in good repair. During any
performance or competition while a performer is not performing, they must wear their team
warm ups over their costumes.
Please remember to always show good sportsmanship at every performance and competition
Show your support not only for performers at other studios, but for Gravity students on other,
teams. We are all one big team at Gravity Dance Center, and we should be happy for anyone
who does well

Acceptable circumstances for excused absences include: personal illness, funeral, special family
events, required school activities (must be discussed and approved by the coach in advance),
and vacation. Directors must be notified before the absence occurs. Unexcused absences are
reason for dismissal from a team. If you miss a practice, you must make up the material you
missed before the next practice. It is your responsibility to catch up. Please note that even an
excused absence could cost you a performance depending on the date and length of the
absence (This includes all extra practices). A team member who is excused from a practice or
event will not be permitted to perform with the team until she/he knows the routine to the
coach's satisfaction.
Parents/Rides: It is important that rides for dancers are prompt. Students are to be dropped off
for practice no earlier than 10 minutes before the studio opens for the night, and picked up no
later than 5 minutes after their class is over. Children should not be left unattended in the
studio if they are not taking class.
Disciplinary Action: Failure to follow the Gravity Dance Center Team Contract may result in, but
isnot limited to, the following actions: sent out of class, sitting out in practice, performance or
competition; suspension/probation from team; and removal from team.

Refunds: Please be advised that any deposits/money put towards fees, uniforms, warm ups,
wear, registration/performance fees, or any other item is non-refundable. This is
regardless of whether a dance team member is suspended from the team or not.
Quitting a Team: If for any reason your child decides to quit their team during the year, you will
be responsible to pay the remainder of your team fees plus a $100 fine for extra time spent.
