ASL Concept
I created this game is to help engage the students into answering questions so they can
figure out for themselves what they need to study in order to pass the exams. The concept of
Language acquisition is that you have to know how to use this topic because it is essential to
learning a new language. You have to know how to communicate with other people especially
when you are deaf. Since it isnt as easy for a deaf person to learn a language, you have to really
make sure you learn a language and start from the basics so you can work your way up to having
discourse with other people.
The main idea behind expansion techniques is to be able to further explain a topic
or idea and to be able to contextualize to prove a point. These techniques are need in everyday
sign language because you cant always just say what you want, how you want. It helps if there
is something that could help you to be able to explain what you are trying to say and that
something is expansion techniques. And since everyone is different, sometimes using expansion
techniques can be what makes someones story or lecture, etc., unique or different.
