superlative by adding-est to the positive. Eg: deep deeper deepest thick thicker thickest 2) If the positive ends in e, only-r and-st are added. Eg: brave braver bravest wise wiser wisest 3) If the positive ends in y and the y is preceded by a consonant, the y is changed into i before adding-er and-est. But if the y is preceded by a vowel, then y is not changed into I. Eg: good better best Much more most Little less least Syllables A syllable is the sound of a vowel(a, e, i, o, u,)that is produced when pronouncing a word. A word may have one or more syllables. Eg: 1) tall 1 syllable. 2) faithful 2 syllables. 3) beautiful -3 syllables. 4) intelligent- 4 syllables.
