The Ego and the Present moment

• Ego= a dysfunctional relationship with the present moment

• you have to be able to decide what kind of relationship you

want with the ‘now’

• one decision changes you’re entire reality

• There are 3 ways the ego will treat the present moment:

1.) means to an end (which the ego finds useful) ->future moment
2.) obstacle: to be overcome
3.) enemy: (hate, complaining, should & shouldn't etc.) ->
arguing with what is

• Question: What is my relationship with the present moment?

• with the seeing comes the power of choice

• at the surface the present moment = what happens
• constant now
• the space of now is confused with ‘what happens’
 6/3:
• Time = horizontal dimension of life
• remove time, eliminate of time = elimination of ego
• not refraining to clock time
• ‘no’ to life returns to a ‘yes’

6/4:
• Reactivity = becoming addictive to reaction

The dreamer and the dream

• denial of absolute relativity of form
• resistance makes the world and the things of the world
• appear more real, more solid, more lasting than they are
• a struggle to survival
• the things that come pretend to be all important

and before you know it they are gone dissolving

to the no thing ness out of which they came
• something in the dream must have been real,

otherwise it could not be

• you may look back at last year’s vacation or

yesterday’s drama and see that it is really similar

to last nights dream: there is the dream and the
dreamer
