Accommodations

Review Worksheet: Students will complete a worksheet reviewing the

order of the planets.
Fill-in-the-blank Song Worksheet: Teacher will introduce The Solar
System Song using YouTube and students will fill in the blanks
according to the lyrics.
Planet Drawing and Description Worksheet: Student will choose any
planet and draw and explain that planet in bullet point or sentence
form.
Final Review: Teacher will ask students to volunteer to present
different facts about the different planets and sun to observe
comprehension.
Solar System Sing-a-long: As a closure activity, teacher will again
introduce the same YouTube video and have students sing along to the
lyrics.

Because this is a special education class many accommodations were made

for the entire class. Including the time frame in which the students had to
complete each task and also the speed at which the lesson and activities were
presented and/or taught. However, no individual accommodation was made
for any student.

Closure Activity

Students participated in a Solar System Sing-a-long using their filled in lyric

sheet and YouTube video shown on the Promethean board.

Assessments

No official assessment has been given for this unit yet. However, I included a
final review in my lesson by having students voluntarily share facts about the
planets and sun to the rest of the class.
