Dear Administrators/Supervisors,
My name is Brad Delauter, and I am seeking employment as a Washington
County Public Schools Administrator. I became aware of this position through the
WCPS Human Resources webpage and am looking forward to serving WCPS in this
capacity.
I have been a social studies educator with Washington County Public Schools
for over eight years, and I have taught in elementary, high school and middle school
settings. Prior to accepting my current position at Springfield Middle School, I spent
seven years at Boonsboro High School. At present, I have recently earned a
masters degree in Secondary Curriculum and Instruction of Social Studies from
WVU. In addition, I have recently completed the requirements for Marylands
administrator I certification and served as Springfield Middle Schools summer
administrative intern. Prior to my educational career, I spent four years of active
duty in the United States Marine Corps.
I have a particular interest in this position as I firmly believe I have the
leadership experience and knowledge to aid in the development, alignment, and
observation of various curriculums as well as building a professional environment
that is beneficial to staff, students, and all WCPS stakeholders. I have extensive
experience working with Marylands C3 standards and Understanding by Design
planning and instructional procedures. I will strive to develop the capacity of my
staff to reflect the efforts of the county to promote these initiatives by working
collaboratively to create a school culture that provides teachers essential curriculum
assessments and instructional resources they would need to be distinguished.
Professional development would be data driven and the implementation would be
differentiated, and improved upon through reflection and feedback from staff and
administrators. As an Assistant administrator I would strive to create a positive
rapport with students and parents as well as the community to effectively lead and
reflect best practices. It would be my personal goal to build collegiality among my
staff members to strengthen relationships and create a school culture that supports
student needs, parents, and the community. As an Assistant administrator I would
use collegiality to incorporate a vision of learning that supports the digital learning
plan and 21st century learning.
I firmly believe that if I was awarded this opportunity, I could assist in the
development and implementation of a vision for learning that is shared and
supported by all WCPS stakeholders. I would be a great addition to the

administrative staff and would continue to enrich my education in order to stay
