Think about how long it took you to do this? A computer does it instantly!

Task3:
Looking at your name above, how many bits are in your name?
= 34 bit
How many bytes are in your name? (there are 8 bits in 1 byte)
= 4 bytes and 2 bits
Task 4:
Research task use a search engine of your choice and find out how data is
stored on the following devices. Try to explain the method in simple sentence
or two.
FLOPPY DRIVE: Floppy disks in sectors (angular blocks) and

tracks (concentric rings at a constant radius). Floppy discs are

made up of thin and flexible magnetic storage and then stored in
a rectangular plastic so it is can remove dust so what is being
stored in it is safe. Floppy disks are read and written by
a floppy disk drive (FDD). Uses magnetic patterns to store
CD/DVD: CDs or compact disks were made originally to store audio
but then later developed to store memory. They were a pre-recorded
device that was then eligible to be replayed. Unfortunately they can
be snapped, scratched or broken. The DVDIs broken up in sectors.
The memory is stored in pits and spaces. These pits and spaces are
recorded and recognized with a laser in the computer, giving off the
patterns.
SD CARDS & FLASH MEMORY: Are portable memory storing devices
that can be used to transfer saved data from machine to machine. In
the inner hardware of an SD card there is rows and rows of tiny
memory chips at work that can store photos, pictures, documents,
music and more. Unfortunately they can be broken or easily lost. As
soon as you plug them into a mach9ine they instantly kick into work
scanning, pulling information and rearranging for you. These drives
use electric pulses which the computer can read and translate the
HARD DISK: The hard drive is the main storage of a computer.
Everything that you d or save is to the hard drive if you do not have
any other internal or external memory devices connected to your
computer. If the hard drive is damaged everything you have saved
can be lost.

CLOUD STORAGE: Cloud storage allows you to use and edit your files
without consuming any space on your computer's hard drive or
server network. Clo0ud storage is a off-site storage system that
allows you not to use space as much on your computer.
