Dear Dr Garan,
I am Nathaniel Gasmin Fronda and this letter signifies my intention to apply for the position
of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics Instructor at your institution.
I have been teaching in an international school here at Mozambique for about 5 years. This
school is structured under the Cambridge curriculum and is a preparatory school for IGCSE
external examinations administered by the Cambridge University in the UK. I taught IGCSE
Chemistry (Grade 9, 10 &11), Physics (Grade 9 &10) and Mathematics (Grade 7 & 8) and
was the Head of the Chemistry Department since 2012. Since 2012, I had been producing
A* and A students in Chemistry and helped Physics students to elevate into A and A2 level
classes and earn good academic records for entry in university in South Africa, the UK,
Singapore, Canada and Malaysia.
I had a rich experience and involvement in a multicultural and diversified class of students
and colleagues. I had learned and applied student centred learning strategies and I
understood the value of diversity and global leadership in teaching and learning.
In the Philippines, I have taught Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics in the high school and
college departments of Cagayan State University at Carig and Sanchez Mira Campus from
2009 to 2011 before joining an international school abroad. Within this period, I have earned
units in the core courses in teaching profession at CSU-SM to enhance my skills in
academic teaching.
Recently I have joined a company that specializes in water treatment to practice my
Engineering profession but I have felt that my passion is truly centred on educating the
young minds. It is therefore my ardent desire to pursue my teaching career and I am
currently registering for Diploma in Science Teaching (Chemistry) at the University of the
Philippines Open University and Master of Science in Science Teaching (Chemistry) at
Cagayan State University for this school year.
I and my family will be back to the Philippines on July 3.
