Twin Engine Concept Advantages

Our HMS is fully operational with one engine down

Very important safety feature as machine can be moved away from high walls
Machine can be moved to allow for blasting
Machine can be moved to a better repair position/location

About 65% of full production will be achieved with only one engine running,
due to
Max working pressure (i.e. max digging forces) will also be achieved with only
one engine running
Pressure free lowering of attachment
Closed loop swing circuit with energy recuperation

Trouble shooting of the power module is much easier

You can easily compare drive trains

Smaller components have to be stored as spare parts

e.g. 1 small pump transfer gear instead of 1 large unit

Cooling even at engine idle speed
Aluminum coolers
Easy to clean and to maintain due to
good accessibility

/ Caterpillar Confidential: GREEN / WHEREVER THERES MINING

Cat Oil Cooling Advantages

The Cat oil cooling system for HMS is fully independent from return oil
Continuous cooling due to cooler supply by pump
Full cooling capacity during also during work breaks (e.g. waiting for trucks)

Fan drive and cooler supply are temperature controlled

Saves energy as fans do not run below 50C oil temperature

Oil temperature stays in optimum operating viscosity range

At 40C ambient the hydraulic oil has approx. 65C

Full cooling capacity available

while waiting for the next truck
