opinionated and will dismiss the conversation completely if the wrong person is
delivering it. No matter their stance or accuracy on the issue, I must choose
someone that wont take away from the issue at hand. The next distraction I believe
will occur is my usage of diagrams. During my brief minute complication I was
debating on a visual. The chart I wanted to use is very easy to ready and interrupt,
but it requires the viewer to read and interrupt. With such a small window I dont
want to leave time for someone to have to read and I cant continue the message as
they read because I run the chance on my audience missing something. Though the
chart has valuable and relevant information, I only see it as a distraction in the long
run. And last but not least simplicity. Going into this project I felt that the simpler
the better. But now I am starting to realize that by staying really simple in my
visual, context and style I may cause a distraction or lack of interest. By not having
eye catching designs and transitions the viewer may not remain focused on the
video. So to fix the issue I have decided to try and build focal points. Points on in
clip that the eye will automatically go to.
The reactions I anticipate on my work will be disbelieve, questioning the facts and
truths, a want to learn more, and a want to build your own conclusions on the
issues. In order to articulate my rationale I believe I will need to connect the dots on
multiple levels. Solid facts will be necessary, with all opinions left on the sidelines.
The facts that will need to be addressed will be the high school graduation rates,
college graduate rates, unemployment rates, sociology research and possibly
incarceration rates. When I write my defense paper I plan to use sociology as my
starting point, from there I will connect a childs sociology mindset to his
educational experience. This will move me forward to high school graduating rates,
seeing as though they are the closets on the equality spectrum. At this point I will
place those statistics up against college graduation statists. That will led into the
economical aspect of the issue. Here I will take a step back from college graduation
and asset the issues that are occurring and keeping students out of college. By
simultaneously discussing statistics I will build my rationale, and the reader will do
so as well. I will control the conversation by remaining accurate. I will use national
level statistics to build my argument. I plan to leave no rock unturned when
explaining my train of thought. I think that by arguing the facts I leave no room for
error or assumptions. This form will offer clarity and precision to the reader so that
they too may generate a reasonable and substantial argument. Again, my plan for
this portion of the assignment is not to advertise what I believe is right, the purpose
is to offer the people accurate information in an easy form to build question in
them.
