makesureourdesignissafeandentertaining.Wehavestackedsomecupstomake
thestartingpointatahighheight.Havingthestartingpointatahighheightwillhavethe
velocityofthemarblegofaster,andtherewouldbeenoughpotentialenergyoncethe
marblegoesdowntherewillbekineticenergy.Whenthekineticenergyincreasesthe
velocityincreasesaswell.Inourdesignwehavealsoincludedloopstomakeit
entertaining.Inordertohavethemarblegointoacompleteloop,wewouldneedahigh
heightbutcannotbetoosteep.

Whywasthereadifferencebetweenthetopspeedyoucalculatedandthetopspeedyou
determinedexperimentally?
TherewasadifferencebetweenthetopspeedIcalculatedandthetopspeedIdetermined
experimentallybecausewhenmygroupandItriedtohavethemarbleseeifitwouldgettheend
ofthegate.Whenwedroppedthemarble,wecouldseethatthesecondpointhadthetopspeed
becauseofhowthemarblewasgoingdownfasterthantheloopsandthelittlehillwehad
towardstheend.WhenIdidthecalculationstoseeifthesecondpointdoeshavethehighest
speed,mygroupsexperimentalwascorrect.Thespeedofthesecondspeedwas4.3287m/s.
