Meditation is engaging and immersing in the Word of God such that your emotions and intellect are
being drawn into the conversation.
The English word for meditate is ruminate. This is where a cow chews grass very slowly, without
hurry. So when we meditate, we should take the time to engage in the Word, chewing and savoring it
slowly to get the best out of it.
Meditating on Gods Word day and night means a diligent attention on the Word in every moment of
our lives.
BE CAREFUL TO DO ALL THAT IS WRITTEN
The idea of the passage is to build a hedge of protection. As we meditate on the Word of God, we build
a hedge around our thoughts, words, deeds and choices.
It goes back to what our hearts are filled with every day. Our careful obedience to the Word overrides
our biases and mistaken notions and leads us toward what is right before God.
We meditate on the Word with an end goal to obey it, because obedience is better than sacrifice (1
Samuel 15:22). While we may love to belong to various ministries and sacrifice ourselves for them, if
we dont live out the Word in our lives, then it is nothing (James 1:22-25).
PROSPERITY AND SUCCESS
The typical mindset about success and prosperity is usually about wealth and power. But there is
more to success and prosperity than just that.
Prosperity (Romans 8:29) In the original language, prosperity means to advance or move forward.
The greatest advancement for a Christian is to become Christlike.
Success (James 1:5, 1 Kings 3:7) The original translation for success is wisdom. God will honor a
humble heart that asks for wisdom just as Solomon asked for it.
The whole duty of man is to fear God and keep His commandments (Ecclesiastes 12:13). As hard as
that may seem, God promises to give us the ability and the will to obey Him (Ezekiel 36:26-27).

OBEDIENCE-BASED BIBLE STUDY
Make it a habit to memorize scriptures and live it out. Begin this week by memorizing some verses
from Psalm 119.
Example:
How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. (v.9)
When we love Jesus, we keep His Word. If we love Him, God shows His love by being with us,
revealing Himself to us (John 14:21-23). What a promise!
When a test comes in your life, your foundation of faith in God and in His Word will keep you strong.
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego stood firm and did not compromise their faith, even in the face of
death. God miraculously delivered them.
King Nebuchadnezzar proclaimed that their God was like no other. He honored their faith and blessed
them (Daniel 3:14-30).
God wants you to be victorious. If God is with you, who can be against you? (Romans 8:31). Amidst
the storms of life, His presence shall be with you and He will give you rest (Exodus 33:14).
Do you love God? If you do, then keep His Word: listen, read, study, memorize, meditate, and most
especially apply the Word in your life not for any merits but all because you love Him.

Use your right hand to remember the 5 disciplines to for studying the Word of God:
Hear
Read
Study
Memorize
Meditate
Use your left hand to represent application of the Word of God, with each finger representing a letter
in the word Apply.
With both hands holding onto and keeping the Word of God, you can ensure that the enemy cannot
snatch it away from you. Moreover, with both hands, you can use it as the Sword of the Spirit to fight
the lies of Satan.
When you meditate on Gods Word, you will discover that God makes Himself real in your life. Go
beyond simply hearing His Word. You need to do what is written in it (James 1:22, 25).
Two Paths
God consistently wants to bless us, but we need to know the conditions of His blessing delight in the
Lord, know Him, love Him, trust Him and obey Him.
Psalm 1:3 describes a person who delights in the Lord as being like a tree planted in water it
thrives. It is a stable tree that yields fruit.
This fruit may not be immediate. But it will come at the right time. Faith is not based on
circumstances, but it is anchored firmly on the promises of God.
If you do not walk with the Lord, you are like a chaff empty and light, easily blown or burnt
(Matthew 3:12); now we see it, now we do not.
Are you a tree planted in water or dry chaff? You have a choice the blessed life or your own. God
knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
God guarantees you that if you choose His way, you will be blessed. So choose God (Deuteronomy
30:20).

WORKS
I am Blessed
Write down reasons why you are blessed and happy according to Scripture.
The next part of Psalm 19 describes the Law of the LORD in Hebrew poetry with different names.
Then it talks about the characteristics of the Word (see the chart below).
In the first half of Psalm 19, God is called Elohim, the God of Creation. Then in the second half, the
passage transitions to using Gods personal name, LORD (Yahweh) combined with the blessings of
Gods Word.
Do not put your faith in men or in your feelings, but in Gods Word. Trust His Word. Even if you do
not understand, trust Him until He shows His purpose.
If you do not trust Gods Word, if you disobey Him, you will miss out on His blessings. Many lives
have been unbelievably transformed by the power of Gods Word. Delight in His Word. Holiness and
happiness are inseparable in the context of Gods blessings.
Gods Word is perfect. If He promised something, it will happen just as He said (Matthew 5:18;
24:35). You have a choice. Will you believe Him, or will you not?
Discussion Questions:

11:3-4) The Bible has prophecies. Many have already taken place.
6. Israel. (Ezekiel 36:10-11, 24, 35) Israel is Gods showcase. For 2,000 years there was no Israel
nation or flag, yet today, the Israel still speaks the language of the Old Testament. Israel became a
nation in 1948 with, fulfilling Isaiah 66:8.
7. Jesus Christ. (Micah 5:2; Luke 2:4; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:22-23; Daniel 9:24-36; Luke

prophecies about Jesus birth, death and resurrection happened.
