INTRODUCTION
For any type of treatment of dental different process, equipments and conditions have
been used that helps to meet the objectives like quality and client satisfaction. Dental
organization and care worker follows the regulations and determined process to accomplish the
task according to need to situation as well the patients. The report will provide information
regarding the standard of personal hygiene, need of clean and tidy working environment for
clinical dental procedure and environment factors that have significant impact on the dental
procedure. In the next task, report will explain legal requirements and validation of dental
equipments and action that has been taken as equipment were not working properly. Moreover,
the report will explain the importance of placing equipments and process of maintaining records
as well the potential risks with the dental equipments and instruments. At the end report will
provide information regarding waste routinely found in dental setting as well explain the policy
and regulatory requirements for practices.

TASK 1
1.1 Required standard for personal hygiene
In the dental setting like Century clinic that offering the quality services and support to
the patients is following the standard process for maintaining the hygienic environment. There
are many standards that need to be considered while offering the treatment and care services to
users. The organization is using different hygienic standard for hair, footwear, nails and uniform
that helping to maintain high quality hygienic environment. For hair and nails organization has
sated the clear guideline for using chemical contained shampoo that removes oil and dirt.
Moreover for footwear, organization has provided the surgical footwear which used while
operating the patient as well in the operational areas of organization. Toenail fingers might have
infection or germs that could affect the conditions of patient (Pavi.et.al. 2010). In order to avoid
such conditions, organization is offering gloves for care workers which changes according to
requirements after uses. Apart from that, to maintain the hygienic standard in organizational
work uniform of staff members washed after use daily. This is responsibility of individual to

maintain the hygienic standard for own uniform and changes it alternate day. The dental clinic
organization does not allow the users and care worker to wear jewellery while working and
operation that helps to meet the required standard for personal hygiene. However this kind of
approach is helping organization to meet the personal hygienic requirements but lack of
monitoring and check increase the risk to maintain hygienic environment.
1.2 Correct hand washing methods
According to proposed clinical dental procedure, dental care staff members use different
methods for hand washing. Hand washing has direct correlation with the overall health because it
contain germs as care worker use chemical, equipments and touch the other persons, this increase
the level of risk. Now to overcome the impact of germs and risk by hand touch use palm to palm
washing and rotational rubbing of thumb clasped into palm (Vaidya.et.al. 2012). These are
effective methods of hand washing that improve the hygiene standard. In addition to this, for
dental care workers proper washing of fingers is more important as it touches the internal part of
patients mouth. For that interlocked finger wash method also been used for hand washing that
overcome the attack of germs and chemical.
1.3 Importance of protective equipments
Dental clinical service involves risk as use of surgical equipments and chemical increase
the possibility of unhealthy process. In order to overcome the risk and maintain the hygiene
process, Century dental clinic has provided guideline for using the surgical gloves, face mask,
heavy duty gloves for care workers and supporting staff. This is important to use these protective
equipments for setting the high standard for cleanness and maintain the hygiene standard
(Saddki.et.al. 2010). Organization is providing surgical masks and hand gloves during the
procedure and patient care activities that protect from blood and skin infection as well the use of
visor help to improve the visibility and overcome the impact of chemical that used while
performing the operations. These protective equipments used for minimizing the risk for both
services users and workers.

1.4 Need of clean and tidy working environment


Dental care services involve high risk and concentration, in order to meet the objectives
of services standard and satisfaction level of individual organization has to maintain clean and
tidy working environment. The clean and tidy environment influence satisfaction level of
patients, improve the brand image and effectiveness of equipments that used for developing and
delivery of services. Dental practices need own protocol for using the equipments their cleanness
and one time utilization. Apart from that different areas and equipments have been shared by the
patients and workers which might increases possibility of blood, body fluids and secretions that
increase risk (Wall.et.al. 2012). High standard of environment plays relatively minor role in
transmitting infection from the dust and liquid residues to minimize the risk. The cleanness of
environment involve different aspects of organization like washrooms, dental chair, trolley,
surface and surgical equipments that encourage the quality in work as well effectiveness.

There are various type of general and sterilisation equipments and materials have been
used for maintaining clean and hygiene environment. For utilization of cleaning equipments and
material Century dental clinic offer specialized training to staff members as well appointed the
experts who monitor the proceedings. For general and sterilisation equipments organization has
appointed different terms that have good knowledge of using the equipments in safe and secure
manners. In addition to this, for clean and hygiene environment dental organization using antibacterial cleaner, floor cleaner, washing up liquid and sterilize machines for germ free dental
equipments (Iida.et.al. 2010). The cleaning equipments like vacuum cleaner and wire wool have
been used for maintaining the hygiene environment. For safer use organization has appointed the
experts and provided the guideline that helping to meet the safety and security measurement.
1.6 How to adjust environmental factors to meet the needs of patients
The organization is aware about environmental factors like heating of equipments,
lighting and humidity that affect the health conditions and satisfaction level of patients. In order
to adjust the environmental factors, the organization has situated Air Conditioners that help to
maintain temperature and control the humidity. For proper ventilation management has
developed the design of building that has proper air flow space. These kinds of adjustments and

procedure for managing the environmental factors are helping to improve the satisfaction level of
patients. In addition to this, for lighting dental care organization use high quality and specialized
tools that support to analyse the mouth of patient and improve the visibility that is essential for
further process. By making this kind of adjustments the dental care organization is managing the
environmental affects and meeting the satisfaction level of patients.
1.7 Reasons for adjustments of environmental factors
The environmental conditions have the significant impact on the personal and
professional services of dental clinic as heating, lighting and proper ventilation influence the
decision and satisfaction level of patients. The major reason behind adjustment is to maintain
sustainable environment that offer comfort as well quality experience to use the dental care

There are different types of equipments and products have been used for managing the
operations and function of dental clinic which helps to maintain the effectiveness. According to
the observation of dental clinic, equipments that have been used for developing and delivery of
services are camper against the ISO standard. The major equipments like chair, hand gloves, xray machines, washer dryer, ultrasonic bath and X-ray processing equipments that used for
developing the results are ISO certified. The dental organization purchase the equipments are
made by the trusted brand that manufactures the specific products for managing the services that
dental organization offer (HERT.et.al. 2011). The equipments like chair, gloves, x-ray and hand
pieces are being developed according to general guideline of World Dental Authority. The legal
requirements that considered while purchasing the equipments involve quality standard,
specification of raw material that have been used and date of expiry that is very important.
Moreover information about the use and process of cleaning are being mentioned to improve
effectiveness and validation in line.
2.2 How to record the outcome of the validation of dental equipments
The validation outcome of dental equipments would be performing by undertaking the
process of parametric product release. This process involves utilization proceeding of
equipments and working hours to analyse the capabilities. In order to record the outcome of the

organization try to use the alternate products that perform the similar kind of work. This kind of
approach helps to perform the current task that needs to be complete within given time. Apart
from that, some of organization has experts who are able to fix the problem to maintain the
proceeding in effective manners.
b). In order to manage the spillage of water, fuel and chemical different types of actions have
been undertaken by the dental care organization to maintain the healthy and secure working
environment. The organization generally takes action for water spilling use of vacuum or dryer
using the professional assistance immediately (Snowden. et.al. 2011). Additionally, for mercury
and chemical spilling dental organization prefer zipper-shut plastic bags to store it as well plastic
thrush bags that does not get affected of mercury and chemical. Apart from that, sulphur powder
and use of rubber gloves helps to prevent from mercury and chemical effect.

3.1 Need of sterilization procedure in line with organizational and legal requirements
Sterilization process refers to medical technique that intentionally leaves a person unable
to reproduce. This is a method of birth control that involves both surgical and non-surgical
techniques for male and female. The sterilization procedures are indented to be permanent which
were generally difficult and impossible. The national government and leading medical council
have provided the legal guideline for use of sterilization process as the illegal use of this process
have various implications on society (Rosenberg, 2010). However it is important to use the
sterilization procedure for different surgical operations but the consideration of legal process is
more essential. In addition to this, because of the emphasis placed on childbearing as the most
important role of women, not having children was traditionally seen as a deficiency or due to
fertility problems. For encountering the problem of infertility this kind of process has been used
with legal consideration.

3.2 Methods of testing of autoclave


For autoclave testing different methods have been used that involve laboratory and run
testing that have significant impact on the planning needs of organization and helps to encourage
the quality of services. In laboratory testing, the load of autoclave checked according to
manufacturing recommendation that has been used for different purpose. This kind of testing
includes heat, validation, capability and durability of material that used for manufacturing
according to purpose. In addition to this, before placing an autoclave into services the run testing
methods helps to analyse the load of autoclave and efficiency that requires for managing the
services including temperature, pressure and storage of information that support to place the
autoclave at appropriate place.

4.1 Waste routinely found in dental setting
There are different types of waste routinely found in dental setting like Century clinic that
use following routinely for hazardous and non-hazardous services and equipments:
Hazardous: The hazardous waste routinely include separator these include bagged or "infectious"
clinical waste, sharps, dental amalgam, chemicals, refrigerators, computer monitors, fluorescent
tubes, etc. The proper monitoring and equipments recording is essential for managing the waste
routinely (Charania and Ingle, 2011). The dental setting no longer use dental amalgam and so we
do not produce spent amalgam capsules but we do produce small amounts when, for example,
old amalgam fillings are removed.
Non-hazardous: This includes bagged hygiene waste like gloves, facemask, paper towels that
need to be waste in regular process to achieve the objectives of organization. This process
involve Domestic and Municipal waste for food packaging and cleaning of floor and washrooms.
4.2 Types of waste should be disposed of
Mercury-containing waste: This helps to storing unused elements mercury in sealed
container and that would be used for disposal using the mercury spill kit.
Silver-containing wastes: in order to avoid the harmful affect of x-ray in dental setting
that is hazardous material use the silver-containing fixer that protect for harm full effect.
4.3 Disposal of hazardous waste
There are many hazardous equipments and instruments have been used for offering the
dental care services that need proper disposal according to legal and regulatory practices and
policy that propped by the higher authority (Narang. et.al. 2012). For used gloves, masks, tissues
and used cotton wools as well needles the disposal policies are same as organization have to
dispose them by fire. In addition to this, waste amalgam the dental setting workers should avoid
using bulk mercury, should never pour elemental mercury in the garbage, red bag or down the
drain and should never place amalgam of any kind in the biohazard bag, trash, or sharps

container. These kind of practices are proposed by the higher authority and top management of
dental clinic.

CONCLUSION
From the above study it is been considered that health and safe environment for dental
clinical services is essential that helps to manage the equipments and services up to
benchmarking standard to meet the satisfaction level of patients. Report has explained standard
of personal hygiene a well external factors that have direct impact on services of dental setting.
Moreover, report has provided the information about the legal requirements and reporting
procedure of hazard. In the next task, report has explained reasons for pre-cleaning instruments
as well the implication of using the damaged and pre-used equipments in dental setting.
