Code C-2152 Trouble Shooting Guide
1) First of all, check the operation of the CL7 Clutch that drives the Pressure/Retraction
mechanism, is
it working or not.
a. Remove the Rear Cover of the Machine,
b. Turn the Machine OFF/ON and then when it shows "Stabilizing Image", check that the
CL7 grey coloured shaft turns 180O degrees and stops (Pressure position, Rollers all
down). At
the end of the "Stabilizing Mode" the shaft should turn another 180O degrees to return
the
Back Up Rollers to the Retracted position (all up).
**NOTE**
To see the end of the shaft, you will need to look over the top of the PWB-MFP Board,
and
then down slightly.
A small blob of Tipex will aid you to see that the shaft turns.
2) If the CL7 Shaft, DOES turn 180O degrees, then go to Section 1 (Checking PS31
Sensor Operation).
3) If the CL7 Shaft, DOES NOT turn 180O degrees, then go to Section 2 (Checking the
CL7 Operation).
Section 1: Checking PS31 Sensor Operation.
1. Remove The Transfer Belt Assembly from the Machine and place it on A CLEAN,
FLAT SURFACE
(Ensure there are no screws etc. on the surface).
2. Remove the 4 Image Units and place them on a CLEAN FLAT SURFACE, and cover
them with
several A3 sheets or a clean cloth to protect the PC Drums from the light.
3. With the Machine turned ON, enter the Service Mode and select "State Confirmation"
> "Sensor
Check" and then select the screen with PS31 on it.
4. Check the outputted data changes from "0" to "1" and visa versa when you operate the
PS31 Sensor
Actuator Arm using your hand.
5. If the outputted data DOES NOT change, Replace the PS31 Sensor.(9335 1300 61)
6. Re-Check the outputted data of PS31 in the "State Confirmation" screen.
7. If the outputted data still does not change, replace the Printer Control Board (PRCB)
(A02E H001
06 PWB-MC).
8. If the outputted data DOES now change, refit all components removed from the
machine and test it
to ensure the problem of C-2152 is repaired.
9. If C-2152 DOES re-occur, go to Section 3, "Fitting a Spacer to the White Plastic
Detecting Plate".
Section 2: Checking CL7 Clutch Operation.
If, after checking the rotation of the grey CL7 Clutch Shaft, it is found not to be rotating
smoothly, carry
out the following :
1. Remove the CL7 Clutch Assembly complete from the rear of the machine, by
removing the PWB- MFP assembly, complete with it's metal mounting frame and the
Toner Supply Drive Motor
2. Check the CL7 Clutch for Rust or Excessive Grease, and Clean / Replace it as
necessary
(A02E M200 00)
3. Refit all of the parts removed, and test that the Code C2152 has been rectified.
4. If the code HAS NOT been rectified, check for the rotation of the CL7 grey shaft
again, and if it still
does not turn, check the ICP7 on PWB-MC (Printer Control Board).
5. With the Machine Unplugged, check for continuity across the ICP7 Fuse on PWB-MC
is not open
circuit. If it is open circuit (Blown), replace the PWB-MC board, (A02E H001 06).

Section 3: Fitting a Spacer to the White Plastic Detection
Plate.
1) Change the Back Up Roller's position from the "Retracted Position" to the "Pressure
Position".
Rotate the Pressure/Release Gear 'B' to change to the Pressure position.
(The rotating direction does not matter.) This is the Pressure position.
The hole must be
vertically up and down.
**NOTE**
Do Not Lose This Pin
2. Now remove The Metal Plate
Remove the Screw 'A', E-ring, Gear 'B' (Fig. D), Pin (fig. E) and the Metal Plate 'C.
Remove the M2 Screw from the Metal Plate and remove the White Colour Plastic part 'D'

4. Now insert 1 Modification Spacer (that you have just made), between the White
Colour Plastic Block
and the Metal Plate, this will move the block away from the Metal Plate and closer to the
PS31
Actuator Arm.
**NOTE**
Set the above 2 Projections correctly and then refit the M2 Screw.
5. Refit the Metal Plate onto the Transfer Belt Unit.
**NOTE**
The white plastic parts MUST be seen when refitting the Metal Plate.

6. Refit the Metal Plate to the Transfer Belt Assy using the Screw, E-ring and Pin.
Rotate the Pressure/Release Gear to change the Rollers to the "Released" position.
Making sure they move freely and return to the Released position.
**NOTE**
If the setting is incorrect, the Rollers do not move to the Released position.
