CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
During this field experience, I researched an evaluated technology plans, developed a Shared
Vision, conducted a SWOT analysis for my school, designed an Action Plan for my school, and
wrote a technology grant application. Each of these activities was eye-opening for me. In order to
facilitate technology integration at my school, I must be very knowledgeable about where we are
and where we are going as a school/district. To be a technology leader, I must stay abreast of
trends in educational technology. I improved in this area by creating an RSS feed.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
Knowledge I must know how to find funding sources outside of the standard school budget in
order to achieve what is best for students. I must know how to locate the information (school
improvement plan, technology resources, staff perceptions) needed to conduct detailed analyses
and design an action plan.
Skills As a technology leader, I must be able to evaluate a schools strengths and weaknesses
and identify researched based methods to address those weaknesses. I must be able to use school
and community resources to ensure digital equity in my school.
Dispositions As a technology leader, I must be able to collaborate with all stakeholders to create
a shared vision and an action plan that all can and will support. I must be ready to implement the
professional development I propose in an Action Plan.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
During this field experience, I collaborated with the LSTC. We discussed implementing many of
the ideas in my Action Plan. I also plan to apply for the grant I wrote. If my grant is approved, we
can measure impact based on student participation in my proposed STEM club and competition.
Impact will also be assessed by how my Action Plan effects our professional development for the
next school year.
