MECHATRON FINALE

IMPORTANT RULES
1.

General Rules:

The registration number of your team is your identity. Please carry your registration card along with you
whenever you report for the competition. All student participants must carry their valid College photo ID
card. Visitors must bring their valid photo identity for the purpose of entry. People without valid photo
identity card will not be allowed inside the campus during Techfest 2015.
Please report at the venue of your competition at least 10 minutes before the slot time that has been
allotted to you. Failing to do so will lead to the disqualification of your team from the competition. We are
very strict in this regard.
2. Competition Rules:

Structure of the arena:


The outer dimensions of the arena are 2600mm X 1750mm.
A seesaw with width 400mm, total length 870mm and height in balanced position as 150mm.
The wedges shown are placed on a platform of height 20mm with adequate slope provided at start of
platform for bot to climb. The length of platform is 450mm on each side of the wedges.

Game play:
Team should be ready with the completely charged bot during their slot. If the team is not prepared, it will
be directly disqualified from the competition.
The machine must fit within a box of dimensions 300mmX300mmX300mm (lxbxh) at the beginning of the
game.However the bot can extend its dimension once the run starts.
Teams must use an on-board power supply. In case of an electric power supply, the voltage at any point on
an individual component must be lower than or equal to 24 V DC at any point of time during the game. A.C.
source shall not be provided.
Machine cannot be constructed using readymade Lego kits or any readymade mechanism, but you can
make use of readymade gear assemblies. Violating this clause will lead to direct disqualification of the
team.
The bot is allowed to carry only one block at a time.
The time measured by the organisers will be final and will be used for scoring. Time measured by any
contestant by any other means will not be accepted at all.
In case the bot gets stuck at any place and at any point of time, then the block it is carrying(if any) will be
placed to its initial position and the bot will be placed back to the start position. The blocks which are
correctly deposited in deposit zone wont be disturbed. The timer wont be stopped during this process.
Maximum of 5 minutes will be given for each team.
The bot is not allowed to slide the blocks against the ground except for fine adjustment in the deposit
zone.
Any damage done to the blocks will lead to immediate disqualification.
The two lower blocks have to be deposited at ground level and two upper blocks by climbing the bridge.

Controls:
The controlling device should not have wired connections to any device e.g laptop, phone, tablet etc.
Teams can use both wired as well as wireless control mechanisms. In case of wired bots, the length of wire
should be minimum 2 meters so that the wire remains slack at any instant of time. If the participants use
wireless mechanism then it is mandatory to use a dual frequency remote.
Irrespective of the mechanism used, only one person will be allowed to control the bot.
3. Certificate Policy:

Top three teams will be awarded Certificate of Excellence.


Certificate of participation will be given to the remaining teams.
Certificates will be given on 4th January at the venue from 10:00 am-12:00 noon.
