The HIAB 085 provides flexibility

The HIAB 085 is a crane that gives you everything

you need, nothing more, nothing less. You can, to a
some extent, custom build the crane according to the
needs of your business. As options, the HIAB 085 can
be equipped with a second boom link, D-link, or an
E-link system. This makes the crane well suited for
work both close-in, and at long outreach. Also tough
tasks such as digging are easily handled thanks to the
rigid boom and link systems. The cylinders on the
boom extensions are positioned so that they take up
minimum height when the boom is fully extended, thus
making it easy to operate within confined spaces.

Low headroom

The cylinders on top of the extensions are

mounted so that they take up less space
the further out they are positioned. This
provides easy access to confined spaces,
thus improving efficiency.

Column close to centre

On Hiab cranes with rack and pinion slew

housing the centre of gravity is as close to
the centre as possible. This means that the
same outreach is offered on both sides of
the truck. No other manufacturer has their
cranes located as close to the centre as
Hiab does.

Manual extensions

A first boom link makes it possible to lift a

heavier load close to the column, and the
second boom link helps in lifting to higher
positions such as scaffolding.

The hexagonal profile ensures the boom is

always in perfect balance, due to its shape
and big support surface. The profile also
minimizes boom deflection. This reduces
maintenance costs and increases efficiency.

The hexagonal profile enables the use of

larger slide pads. This makes the extensions move smoother and reduces
mechanical wear on the boom.

The crane can be equipped with manual

boom extensions. These are easily mounted
and give an extra outreach that can prove
valuable.

Valve 91

Innovation gives superb performance

The HIAB 085 occupies the minimum of space on your

truck, allowing you to maximise the payload. It can be
fitted with up to 5 hydraulic extensions reaching more
than 14 meters, or with additional manual extensions
almost 16 metres. The crane can be delivered with an optional high seat or control platform. You can also choose
between the SPACE 3000, 4000 or 5000 intelligence
system to provide you with safety and productivity
functions. The SPACE 5000 system offers the pinnacle
of safety and productivity features.
Intelligence systems

All electronic functions are managed by a SPACE

system, which is a computer devised to intelligently
assist you in operating your crane. The SPACE electronics are housed in a 100% weather-proof casing and
is extremely reliable and easy to use. On the front of the
casing a number of indicators clearly show vital information to the operator. As an example, the pressure in

the two cylinders is displayed continuously. Observing

these indicators proves very useful when positioning
the booms for lifting loads at maximum capacity.

The HIAB Valve 91 can handle very large

oil throughput. It is a closed centre, pressure-compensated and load-sensing control
valve. This provides the operator with a
fingertip feel when controlling the crane.

The SPACE intelligence system is available in three

different configurations, each one with an increasing
number of advanced and productive functions. A valuable feature for service personnel is that fault code indication and load cycle data is also stored in the system.
SPACE 3000 is the basic intelligence system and then
follows the SPACE 4000. Finally the SPACE 5000
system provides you with a productivity and safety
solution that is second to none.

The hexagonal profile used on Hiab

booms is a ground-breaking design introduced by Hiab many years ago. It is now
standard throughout the market of loader
cranes. Even the smallest of Hiab cranes
benefit from this design.

Control platform

A control platform provides an excellent

view for the operator over the entire slewing sector, minimising the danger of blind
angles. The control platform is very easy
to get on to, ensuring fast loading and
unloading when needed.
