U.S. Open, his first major championship. Later in the day, LeBron James (holding championship trophy) and his Cavaliers teammates ended Cleveland’s 52-year championship drought
by beating the Golden State Warriors 93-89 in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. With tears in his eyes, James celebrated the championship he sought when he returned to Cleveland two years
ago. It was the first time an NBA team has come back from a three-games-to-one deficit to win the title.

Cavaliers forward LeBron James holds the Larry O’Brien Trophy after the Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warrors 93-89 to win the NBA title.

Oakland, Calif. — It’s over. ¶ OK, Cleveland sports fans, take a deep breath, then say those two words — It’s over. ¶ A major sports
championship is yours for the first time since the 1964 Browns. ¶ Thank you, Cavaliers. ¶ Thank you, LeBron James. ¶ Thank you for
the stunning 93-89 victory over the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena. ¶ Thank you for not only delivering an NBA title, but making
history ... defying the odds ... confounding the critics. ¶ The Cavs didn’t just win their first NBA title, they won in a fashion the NBA has
never seen before. Down, 3-1, and facing elimination, they came back to win the seven-game series. ¶ That’s a first. ¶ Going on the road
to win a Game 7 in the Finals. That hasn’t been done since 1978. ¶ The Cavs didn’t just win, they upset the defending NBA champions.
They beat a team that won an NBA record 73 games during the regular season. ¶ They turned the basketball world upside down — and
came out on top! ¶ Fifty-two years of tears, heartache and frustration are over. — Terry Pluto, The Plain Dealer

been “a very shy little girl” before
competing in New Philadelphia’s

She said the experience that fol-

helped her prepare for job interviews
and daily introductions to multiple
patients each day.
“First Town Days really put me
in that position where we had to

of everybody and say ‘My name is

tell about my town and where I came
from, and my festival.
“And that built my speaking skills.
