CAPNOSTAT 5 MAINSTREAM CO2 SENSOR

21st Century CO2 Technology for mainstream CO2 monitoring

in critically ill, intubated patients.
The CAPNOSTAT 5 Sensor is the ideal capnography
solution for your patient monitoring system. It
provides technologically advanced measurement of
End-Tidal Carbon Dioxide (ETCO2), respiration rate,
and a clear, accurate capnogram at all respiratory
rates up to 150 breaths per minute.
The CAPNOSTAT 5 Sensor is:
Compact
Flexible
Affordable
Reliable
The CAPNOSTAT 5 can be combined with other
components and software to provide respiratory
monitoring capabilities that are comprehensive, yet
remarkably flexible.

OPTION

ITS ALL INSIDE!

As the recognized global leader in capnography,
Respironics has been providing innovative and costeffective products to OEM customers for over
18 years. Now, our engineers have developed a new
miniature PC board that puts all measurement and
analysis functions right inside the sensor head. This
keeps costs and space requirements down by eliminating the need for a PC board inside your monitor.
The data output is a simple RS232 signal, so its a
snap to integrate the new CAPNOSTAT 5 Sensor
into your patient monitoring system. We also use
the very latest Digital Signal Processor (DSP) for
reliable and flexible analog-to-digital conversion.

GO MAINSTREAM
The CAPNOSTAT 5 Sensor is designed for
mainstream measurements using sophisticated infrared absorption spectroscopy
to measure ETCO2. With mainstream,
measurements are taken directly at the
patients airway, so response is faster and
there is less chance of erroneous, artifact
data. The analyzer portion of the sensor
cannot be contaminated with patient
secretions, and there are no pumping
or pneumatic components to replace.
Maintenance requirements and overall
cost-of-ownership are minimized. Our
exclusive family of airway adapters are
easy to use and durable enough even for
long-term ventilator patients. Yet, they are
inexpensive and disposable.

packages and accessories, making it
easy for you to configure your patient
monitoring systems with state-of-the-art
respiratory management and analysis
technology now and into the future.
