1.) WHEREAS, Donna Mae Atkins, Senior Clerk Typist, will retire on August 30, 2016, after completing 30 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Donna Mae Atkins is positive, enthusiastic and extremely organized in all areas of her clerical responsibilities. She is
professional, not only with her co-workers, but also extends this to all students and parents; and
WHEREAS, Donna Mae Atkins; has the ability to multi-task and is always willing to pitch in and help when necessary; and
WHEREAS, Donna Mae Atkins has donated much of her own time over the years to support our students and staff. She always
brings an upbeat attitude and has been asset to all that she has worked with.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Donna Mae Atkins, Senior Clerk Typist.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Education takes great pleasure in recognizing Donna Mae Atkins, Senior Clerk
Typist, and, herewith, expresses its sincere gratitude for the invaluable effort and work she has done for the Riverhead Central
School District.

2.) WHEREAS, John Barona, Special Education Teacher, will retire on June 30, 2016, after completing 19 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in his time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, John Barona is a passionate, dedicated, caring and talented Special Education Teacher who puts his heart and soul into
teaching and reaching his students; and
WHEREAS, John Barona is a valued member of the faculty, and is commended for his support, perseverance and determination to
the special education program; and
WHEREAS, John Barona has dedicated significant time and effort to provide his students with a wealth of experience, including
coordinating field trips and after school programs and making Living Environment come alive for his students.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
John Barona, Special Education Teacher.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Education takes great pleasure in recognizing John Barona, Special Education
Teacher, and, herewith, expresses its sincere gratitude for the invaluable effort and work he has done for the Riverhead Central

3.) WHEREAS, Joan Becht, School Nurse, will retire on June 30, 2016, after completing 18 years of dedicated and exceptional
service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Joan Becht is a kind hearted, caring, loyal and knowledgeable Middle School Nurse who possess excellent
organizational, record keeping, and clinical skills; and
WHEREAS, Joan Becht generously gives her time for emotional support and understanding to the needs of the young adolescent
population; she quickly and efficiently triages, assesses and treats students; she goes above and beyond to facilitate sports
physicals, and keeps calm under pressure; and

WHEREAS, Joan Becht has contributed a great deal of her time, energy and wisdom to several programs including Advisor to the
Future Nurses Club, Middle School Head Softball Coach, and a volunteer EMT.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Joan Becht, School Nurse.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Education takes great pleasure in recognizing Joan Becht, School Nurse and,
herewith, expresses its sincere gratitude for the invaluable effort and work she has done for the Riverhead Central School District.

4.) WHEREAS, Patricia Boardman, Special Education Aide, will retire on June 30, 2016, after completing 13 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Boardman takes pride in her work and is always willing to provide whatever it takes to get the job done; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Boardman has done a great job as an individual aide. She makes a great effort to connect with the students and
develops a working knowledge of their needs; and
WHEREAS Patricia Boardman has consistently been cooperative, efficient and organized; she has been an asset to the students and
co-workers alike.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Patricia Boardman, Special Education Aide.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Education takes great pleasure in recognizing Patricia Boardman, Special Education

5.) WHEREAS, Linda Borenstein, Elementary Teacher, will retire on June 30, 2016, after completing 20 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Linda Borenstein is an intelligent, caring, patient and enthusiastic professional who accepts the challenges of the day to
day routine with a sense of humor and a focused plan for academic performance and assessment; and
WHEREAS, Linda Borenstein has established an excellent rapport with students, parents and staff, always striving for excellence and
demonstrating a responsibility and loyalty to the teaching profession; and
WHEREAS, Linda Borenstein has demonstrated enthusiasm and dedication to any task which she undertakes and is extremely
thorough in her efforts.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Linda Borenstein, Elementary Teacher.

6.) WHEREAS, Dorice Brown, School Bus Driver, retired on February 26, 2016, after completing 27 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Dorice Brown is a pleasure to work with; she has a professional and caring manner; she goes above and beyond to
meet the needs of her students on a daily basis; and
WHEREAS, Dorice Brown has a genuine care and concern for the safety of her students; her highest priority has always been the
safe and efficient daily transportation for all students, especially during inclement weather; and
WHEREAS Dorice Brown has established positive, open relationships with coworkers, parents and students; she continuously
demonstrated an attitude of professionalism and respect throughout her career; she is a school bus driver whose contributions have
played a vital role in the education of Riverhead students.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Education takes great pleasure in recognizing Dorice Brown, School Bus Driver, and,
herewith, expresses its sincere gratitude for the invaluable effort and work she has done for the Riverhead Central School District.

7.) WHEREAS, Keith Brown, Head Custodian, will retire on June 24, 2016, after completing 35 years of dedicated and exceptional
service in his time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Keith Brown is conscientious and has displayed thorough knowledge of his profession throughout his years at the Riley
Avenue Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, Keith Brown is a pleasure to work with and has the patience required to help staff members reach their full potential; and
WHEREAS, Keith Browns cooperative attitude has provided direction and leadership for the custodial and maintenance staff at Riley
Avenue Elementary School.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Keith Brown, Head Custodian.

8.) WHEREAS, Amala Cain, Supervisor of Transportation, retired on June 9, 2016, after completing 6 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Amala Cain has dedicated her time and effort to service the Riverhead Central School Transportation Department; her
insight and innovative leadership has motivated her staff members to be productive and accountable employees; and
WHEREAS, Amala Cain has done an excellent job handling complaints and concerns from parents; her willingness to intervene in
situations and produce effective solutions has greatly improved the Transportation Department at Riverhead Central School District;
and
WHEREAS, Amala Cain is a diligent administrator who continually makes an effort to improve her practice by working well with
colleagues, learning from others, as well as sharing her own experiences and knowledge.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Amala Cain, Supervisor of Transportation.

9.) WHEREAS, Debra Cato, Secretarial Assistant, retired on May 31, 2016, after completing 16 years of dedicated and exceptional
service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Debra Cato has been an asset to the District, Pupil Personnel Services and the High School; she is an outstanding
employee who has been a positive and motivating influence; and
WHEREAS, Debra Cato creates a pleasant workplace, has a positive attitude and always is willing to help out when needed; and
WHEREAS Debra Cato is a highly effective and productive employee; she has exceptional organizational skills that make her a true
clerical leader.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of

WHEREAS, Karen Cerino is a calm, positive, responsible, flexible and extremely well organized professional who manages to flash a
smile for all of those who cross her path while offering a word of cheer and encouragement; and
WHEREAS, Karen Cerino has established positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, always striving for excellence and
demonstrating a responsibility and loyalty to the teaching profession; and
WHEREAS, Karen Cerino has dedicated significant time, energy and interest in her students classroom programs, field trips, and
special events providing support and encouragement to their overall academic success.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Karen Cerino, Speech Teacher.

11.) WHEREAS, Suzanne Convery, Special Education Teacher will retire on August 26, 2016, after completing 30 years of dedicated
and exceptional service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Suzanne Convery is a genuine, kindhearted, caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Special Education teacher who puts her
heart and soul into everything she does; and
WHEREAS, Suzanne Convery has demonstrated a desire and passion for teaching and learning that has had a tremendously
positive effect on her students learning and environment; and
WHEREAS, Suzanne Convery is a successful educator who has gone the proverbial extra mile for her students; she has
contributed a great deal of her time and energy contributing to the Special Olympics program and serving as a class advisor.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Suzanne Convery, Special Education Teacher.

12.) WHEREAS, Jenny Lou Corbin, School Teacher Aide, will retire on June 30, 2016, after completing 42 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Jenny Lou Corbin has been a vital asset to the Pulaski Street Elementary School as a School Teacher Aide and an
Office Aide; her positive attitude and hard work ethic has been appreciated by all; she is always willing to assist the students, faculty,
parents and staff of the Pulaski Street Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, Jenny Lou Corbin is an employee who takes pride in her work and demonstrates excellent organizational and record
keeping skills; her diligent and conscientious work ethic permeates throughout the Pulaski Street Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, Jenny Lou Corbin has produced plays and presented speeches of Martin Luther King Jr. and President Barack Obama
as a culminating event to Black History Month involving students and providing a leadership/role model for all.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of

WHEREAS, Raymond Crump is a dedicated employee who always goes beyond the call of duty to complete his work and assist his
coworkers; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Crump is a team player with a positive attitude and has proved to be a leader in his position.

14.) WHEREAS, Jeanne DAlsace, Senior Clerk Typist, retired on April 15, 2016, after completing 15 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne DAlsace, is an important part of the High School Guidance Team who has impeccable organizational and
communication skills; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne DAlsace has helped organize many successful Senior Awards Ceremonies, which requires a dedicated and
detail oriented person; she does this with ease and a smile and has always encouraged the students to reach their full potential when
applying for scholarships; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne DAlsace has been a valued member of the Guidance Team who is always available to assist students and staff
with a smile.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Jeanne DAlsace, Senior Clerk Typist.

WHEREAS, Sandra Doroski is organized, kind, conscientious, always smiling and hardworking; she takes great pride in all aspects of
her job; and
WHEREAS, Sandra Doroski is an exceptional employee who does the work of three people; she is absolutely irreplaceable.
WHEREAS, Sandra Doroski has been commended for maintaining excellent records, keeping her area in meticulous order, and for
successfully training new Substitute Food Service Workers in the building.

16.) WHEREAS, Margaret Eilers, Elementary Teacher, will retire on June 30, 2016, after completing 28 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Margaret Eilers is a dedicated professional with an outgoing personality, a great sense of humor and a serious
commitment to her students; and
WHEREAS, Margaret Eilers is always willing to lend a helping hand to the students of the Aquebogue Elementary School, rather than
herself; and
WHEREAS, Margaret Eilers has demonstrated hard work, commitment and enthusiasm in creating a warm, caring and engaging
classroom atmosphere encouraging students to challenge themselves and grow.

17.) WHEREAS, Laura Feuerman, Elementary Teacher, will retire on June 30, 2016, after completing 24 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in her time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Laura Feuerman is a patient, responsible, loyal, cooperative, organized and enthusiastic Elementary Teacher with a
marvelous outlook and love for teaching; and
WHEREAS, Laura Feuerman has contributed a great deal of time, energy and wisdom to several programs including Aquebogues
Building Technology Committee, the District Software Committee, Honor School Coordinator, and Grandparents/V.I.P. Day; and
WHEREAS, Laura Feuerman has established wonderful relationships with her students, parents, and is well liked and respected
among her colleagues.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Laura Feuerman, Special Education Teacher.

18.) WHEREAS, Donald Frobey, Elementary Teacher, will retire on June 30, 2016, after completing 20 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in his time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Donald Frobey is highly respectful, reflecting genuine warmth, caring and sensitivity to his students as individuals; he is
appreciated for his dedication and contribution to the Pulaski Elementary School and has been described as caring a great deal for
his students learning and well-being; and
WHEREAS, Donald Frobey has helped to coordinate many sixth grade field trips, including ones to Caumsett State Park providing an
enriching science experience for all the students; and
WHEREAS, Donald Frobey has demonstrated his willingness to go outside the box when dealing with tough situations, which helps
his students to demonstrate self-discipline and responsibility.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education, that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of

WHEREAS, Toni Gallo has worked in many different capacities with the Riverhead Central School District, and always has exceeded
expectations in all areas of her job responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, Toni Gallo has consistently dedicated her time and positive attitude to all of her students and co-workers alike; been
repeatedly commended for her hard work and dedication; she has been an asset to any classroom and has consistently created a
nurturing and positive learning environment for her students; and
WHEREAS Toni Gallo has volunteered and donated her time on projects in our community that have helped promote the quality of
the students in the Riverhead Central School District.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Toni Gallo, Teaching Assistant.

20.) WHEREAS, Robert Gilliam, Custodial Worker I, will retire on July 18, 2016, after completing 27 years of dedicated and
exceptional service in his time in the Riverhead Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Robert Gilliam is a loyal, cooperative, conscientious, dependable Custodial Worker I who has a great attitude and is a
pleasure to work with; he has been commended for his hard work, dedication and great pride he displays in the responsibilities he is
assigned; and
WHEREAS, Robert Gilliam demonstrates excellent knowledge of his job and performs his job responsibilities in an efficient and
timely manner; he has an understanding of what it takes to make the Middle School safe and clean for all of the students and staff;
and
WHEREAS, Robert Gilliam is a team player and is always willing to help others no matter what may arise; he is an asset to the
Middle School.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that having accepted the resignation for retirement purposes of
Robert Gilliam, Custodial Worker I.

WHEREAS, Carol MacQuarrie has been a member of the NYS Association of Foreign Language Teachers (NYSAFLT) and has
assisted her students outside the classroom in her role as Spanish Club Advisor.

authoritative and demanding; he utilizes his humor as an effective tool to differentiate instruction and provide genuine concern for his

WHEREAS, David McKillop is a highly effective Social Studies Teacher and is tremendously appreciated and respected in the High
School. He is always there with a smile and a laugh; and

the public, and advocates for students when needed; and
WHEREAS, John Nobile has been a liaison to community resources such as Family Service League, Hospice, Mental Health Clinic,
Family Counseling Services, and Stony Brook Hospital; and
WHEREAS, John Nobile possesses excellent judgement, solid interpersonal skills and a willingness to take on challenges; he is
always professional and available to help in emergency situations.

education setting as well as helping students learn and improve their English proficiency; and
WHEREAS, Judith Rosica provides information to families frequently on student progress with students contributing to the design of
the system. Her response to family concerns is handled with great professional and cultural sensitivity; and
WHEREAS, Judith Rosica displays in-depth knowledge of curriculum and she shares and mentors her ESL colleagues on program
implementation. She supports the office and colleagues when second language parents and their families need help with translation.
