What does a control system do?

Maintain certain variables within some limit
e.g temperature in a room

Why we need to control a process?

Because processes are dynamic changes always
occurred, and processes are not in steady state.

There are many applications where part or all

of a process has to be controlled. e.g.

temperature
pressure
flow
level
composition
others

Manual Control
Before process automation, people, rather than
machines, performed many of the process control
tasks. Control operations that involve human action
to make an adjustment are called manual control
systems.

Automatic Control
Control operations in which no human intervention
is required, are called automatic control systems

Thought of the day ..

You use manual control every day ......LIST SOME of THEM .

Question of the day ..

In every systems, there are variables . What is variable ?
