CASE ANALYSIS --- EVIDENCE OF POLLUTION

Because of the locals are uncultured; when a dog or other animal dies, they throw
the corpse into the river or on the beach, instead of burring it.
The Naga River, which flows into the sea at Gringo beach, is filthy and narrow as
a result of garbage dumps and deforestation. Plastic bottles, cardboard, old
clothes and other trash are strewn over the sand dunes.

severe land pollution by chemical
substance,

garbage

and

industrial residue which damage

the soil in Haina city.
The magnitude is heavy by the
bad influence happened on the
residence, especially for children.
The key determinants are the
control of the industry, the
disposal of garbage, and the
awareness of the local residence.

Blacksmith staff also conducted

education workshops for local
children to help minimize their
exposure to lead dust and
materials, and continued with
blood lead level testing and
monitoring
