RELEVANT EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

Classroom Volunteer

Monticello Middle School

Sept. 2015-Present

This fall Ms. Samantha Redepenning welcomed me into her 7 th grade mathematics classroom as a
weekly classroom volunteer. Though I spend most of my time as an observer, I do get to assist
regularlyanswering student questions, suggesting problem-solving strategies, checking over
work or solutions, and generally helping out as needed.

GEM Classroom Assistant

University of Minnesota, MathCEP
Nov. 2015-Present

Girls Excel in Math (GEM) is an enrichment program for mathematically enthused girls in grades
4-7 run from the University of Minnesotas School of Mathematics Center for Educational
Programs (MathCEP). As a GEM classroom assistant I get to spend two Saturdays a semester
working with an awesome and inspiring group of girls and teachers who are so excited about
math that they gladly get up early on a weekend to come to the U and get their math face on.
Speech Judge & Helper
Kimball Area High School Speech Team
Jan. 2007-Present

I joined Kimball Speech Team in seventh grade and have been involved with the program ever
since. My senior year I was team Captain and took 5th place at State in Creative Expression. Over
the years Ive assisted in various ways: judging MSHSL tournaments, helping organize and run
home-meets, mentoring and providing constructive feedback to Speechers.
Art in the Park Instructor
Paynesville Community Education
Summer 2008

The Art in the Park series was a bi-weekly summer activity program for elementary-age students
organized by Paynesville Community Education and led by myself. Each session we met at a
different community park, with the days art activity and lesson designed to highlight a bit of local
history, natural wonder, or opportunity for community engagement.
Summer Helper
Paynesville Bulldog Kids Club
Summer 2008

As a summer helper for the Bulldog Kids Club school-age summer day-care program, I assisted
in supervising 10-35 kids of a variety of ages on a semi-daily basis, leading games and group
activities, coordinating and chaperoning field-trips, and communicating with parents as needed.
