Skills

I have attended clinical through the nursing program that I participate in at Molloy College and so far I have gained
the skills of giving bed baths, attaining vital signs, comfort measures, abdominal, cranial, respiratory, peripheral
vascular assessments, staging pressure ulcers (NDNQI certified), wound care, conducting a Hoyer Lift, medication
administration (IV, IM, NG tube, Peg Tube, Subcutaneous, Nasal Sprays, Inhalers, Topical creams, etc.), and have
participated in the removal and insertion of Foley catheters, tracheotomies, PICC lines, etc. I have accomplished my
foundations of nursing as well as medical surgical nursing. I am continuing on with critical care next semester as
well as OB and Pediatrics. Changing paths to special education, I have broadened my technological skillset by mastering
different web tools and programs such as Weebly, Prezi, SMART notebook Exchange, Windows Live Movie Maker,
Buncee, Google forms, QR codes, and Voki.

Completed new hire orientation and continuing educational programs, including fire safety, emergency procedures, client
rights and infection control. At atria, continuing education was of utmost importance; watching videos and taking monthly
exams, which tested not only the ability to care but also the knowledge to be aware of any situations that should be taken into
account such as a croup cough or respiratory infection. When these situations occur, the nurse must be notified and the
assistants shadow to learn how to treat.
Personal care: Diaper and clothing changes, showering, bathing and hygiene assistance. Each resident must be taken care of
as a family member at this residency, dignity and self-respect of each resident is always held in high regard.
Safety and supervision: all residents, when confused must be reoriented and educated on the layout of the building to
preserve their safety and well-being.

Transportation accompaniment: some residents have fears of elevators or have an impaired ability to ambulate safely due to
certain diseases such as Parkinsons disease or risk for falls and must be taken from their room to their daily activities.
Diet and food monitoring: residents nutrition is monitored daily, whether it be fluid restriction diet or dehydration, RSAs are
trained to encourage and remind our residents to follow their specific required diet.
Companionship and conversation: Each resident is unique and most love person to person interaction; RSAs are there to
insure that they are never alone and to provide them with a sense of self.

I have studied abroad with Molloy College Nursing majors to Paris in Spring semester of 2013 and will be studying abroad
again with the Nursing program of Molloy to Norway on May 22nd- June 1st of 2014.
I have been the lead role in High School Musical as Sharpay, The King and I as Anna, and Little shop of Horrors as
Audrey at Central High School. I am currently participating in MPAC (Molloy Performing Arts Club) as the Featured Female
Vocalist in the upcoming Spring performance of Back to the 80s
