Plan text: I affirm the resolution through the plan that Britain should adopt a

no regional style exit to separate from the EU.

According to Metro, Without the EU, Britain can independently pursue

international trade deals with China, India and the US.
EU is currently draining Britains economy every day. Some estimates suggest the

total economic cost of EU membership is around 11 per cent of our annual

GDP which makes it something like 200billion.

According to a news article published by BBC in January of this year, Norway

has a higher percentage of trade with EU than the UK does even though EU
is not part of the EU.

Resolved that Britain withdrawing

from the EU is in Britains best
interest

Burdens:
The opp has to prove that it is uniquely necessary for the UK to stay in the EU to
preserve UKs interests.

Point 1: Competitiveness
The EU is in control of all trade deals involving its nation states. Today, member states vote on
whether they wish to engage with trade deals with other countries outside of the EU and
negotiate the rates of trade amongst themselves. A Brexit changes the equation. Britain is a
lucrative trading partner, being one of the richest EU nation, while also inhabiting an island with
few natural resources. Britain naturally will want to reach out to countries to whom the EU
rejected free trade agreements or dragged their feet on, such as the United States, in a quick
and efficient manner. This spurs British trade directly by allowing for more individually tailored
economic policy, but also help developing nations by offering them competitive deals to combat
the EU.
By having Britain as a competitive negotiating force, this pushes for other European nations to
respond in kind, spurring further trade deals, spurring economic activity domestically and
abroad. A wealthier, more trading Britain is good for Britain, but given the proximity and relations
with nations that will stay EU, further trade and ability for them to purchase more British
manufacturing can only be good for the regional and global economy.

Point 2: It is key to UK food security

that they leave the EU

Politico reports that the fight over GMOs is just the most recent example of the EU
ignoring science and putting at risk farmers access to new technology, including
genetically modified crops, Seals said.
GM technology, the fact that its outlawed in the EU, is a complete anachronism we
need that to go forward, there is no limit on what we could achieve if we were given the
freedom to use GM crops, he added.
Moreover, The Guardian released an article emphasizing that if the UK does not use GMOs
soon, rates of starvation, poverty, and crime will skyrocket because of a lack of food.
Britains impending starvation caused by the EU was also revealed months ago in a report
commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions itself.

Point 3: The EU undermines UK

democracy
Huffington post reports that: membership of the European Union is undemocratic because the
European Commission, which is unelected, has the monopoly of proposing all EU legislation
which it does in secret. It also has the power to issue regulations which are automatically binding
in all member states. For example, this commission is forcing Britain to charge people.
The European Commission has put itself on a potentially damaging collision course with the UK
after it claimed that Britain's road charge for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) discriminates against
non-UK hauliers.
"This is another example of how undemocratic the EU Commission can be - it should only ever be up to
the UK government to decide what taxes we charge foreign vehicles."
"The Commission clearly has no respect for our sovereignty"
"This will just give voters in the UK even more of a reason to vote leave on June 23."

The EU's law-making process is fundamentally undemocratic. Power is vested in the unelected
and unaccountable elite who make laws

No independence:
1 Lose economic security from Britain
2 Lose jobs
3 No UK research funding
4 Less influence in the world
Security is better handled on a UK-wide basis
According to a article published on Holyrood (6 hours ago) , support for leaving the
EU grew in Scotland meaning that the risk of Scotland independence is low.
