This document analyzes the free vibration of sandwich beams that have functionally graded (FG) cores using the element free Galerkin method. The element free Galerkin method is used to model the FG core material properties that vary through the thickness. The natural frequencies and mode shapes of these sandwich beams are determined for different power law distributions of material properties through the core thickness.
