Assignment 3: Designing a web site for your learning area

You will be required to complete one website. However, to help you keep on track
with the assignment, several milestone assignments will be given. Milestone
assignments do earn marks, failure to complete them could be an indication that
you are not performing as required.

Note: NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED and NO ASSESSMENTS

WILL BE DONE OR COMPLETED DURING THE TEACHING TIME.

Milestone assignment 1: Welcome

Design a website that will be published on World Wide Web about a

section of content from a learning area that you teach. 5
Create the home page for your website. Remember to plan your website
first (you can base it on the need analysis done in the theoretical module
Computer-Integrated Education [CIE]) and should be guided by ADDIE
model of instructional design and principles for effective design. Your
home page must have the following:

• formatted text with graphics, a welcoming message and a clear

navigational structure (example, menu).
• using a Two Column Layout Elements, put your picture on the left column
and Welcome massage on the right column. 10

Milestone assignment 2: Learning Content

Create an additional minimum of two web pages with formatted text and
graphics.

• The first page must be about the Learning Content from your Learning
area.
• The second page must be about the Resources from the Internet (in
relation to your learning area).

Refer to your storyboard of your website, as created in the theoretical module

“CIE” - Design phase. 8

Worksheet and summary documents

Create a worksheet on the learning resources that you compiled in second page
of milestone 2.

• The worksheet must have three different sections: one word answer;
complete (fill-in the missing word) sentence; and a paragraph.
• One word answer – the learners must answer particular questions. Create 5
5 questions
• Complete the sentence – create 5 questions where they fill-in the 5
missing word to make the statement true
• Paragraph – the learners must write a 5 lines paragraph on a particular 3
question with these instructions.

One page summary

• You must write a one page summary of the work from the resources in
milestone 2. You should answer this question in the summary: What
should they learn (SKVA, etc) from the list of resources gathered
from internet? Clear paragraphs and sections of work need to be
evident in the document. 7

Technical skills: converting to Scribd

The two documents must be in the uploaded onto the website with clear
