• Think about what a theme for this book might be. Write it down. (theme – topic + author’s message about it) • Identify three lines/phrases/paragraphs from the book that support this theme. • With three other people, create a performance that uses the text and shows a theme of the book. • Performance criteria: – Use text from book, which may be rearranged into a different form (poem, phrase list) – Use voices creatively. At least one part must be spoken in unison. Other parts may echo, vary in volume, repeat words, phrases, etc. – Use bodies to show the main theme through still picture, series of tableaux, or silent movie.
