EDUCATION SECTOR

Successfully completed projects have led to significant repeat op-

portunities in the education sector. CBES provide a comprehensive
service to this demanding sector, with construction, M&E, lift de-
sign & installation, roofing, and interior fit-out all available. The
full service offer reduces the risks and complexities significantly,
by having a single point of contact to managing the needs of the
end user and client.

CALEDONIAN UNIVERSITY
The relationship with Caledonian University has strengthened, where the emphasis
is on cost, quality, flexibility, and the ability to meet critical deadlines.

CBES has successfully delivered:

• new forensic laboratories

• refurbishment of an administration block, which including window replacement to an entire elevation

These works took place in a live, heavily populated student environment.

EDINBURGH CITY COUNCIL

Recent projects include the refurbishment of a primary school for Edinburgh City
Council, including the upgrading and improvement of fire integrity, the installation
of a new passenger lift, the construction of an extension, and general upgrading to
become DDA compliant.

WILLIAMWOOD ACADEMY
After the incumbent HVAC contractor went into liquidation halfway through the
rebuilding of Williamwood Academy in East Renfrewshire, CBES successfully
negotiated with the Main Contractor – BAM Construction - to complete the
installation of external water services, above ground drainage, all internal hot and
cold water services and associated plant and installation of “free issue” sanitary
ware. The works were carried out over a five month period – February to July
2006 with no detrimental effect to the handover or opening of the School in the
Summer of 2006.

VALE OF LEVEN ACADEMY

A further successful project is the complete HVAC and plumbing package at
Vale of Leven Academy in West Dunbartonshire. The main contractor is BAM
Construction. Works were carried out over a 42 week period with the School
opening in the Summer of 2008. Services installed include heating, cooling,
ventilation, hot and cold water services, air conditioning and BMS. All systems are
designed very much in line with the current Government Energy Efficiency and
Environmental Policies.
