Kids Astronomy is a great tool for teachers to use in the classroom. It provides
accurate information and fun games and interactive fun for the students and news,
dictionaries, and news for the teachers. The site is bright, fun, and has audio stimulation;
however, it is very busy and could be difficult for a young student to navigate alone.
Students can make their own solar system, explore space, and learn about the planets. A

Exploring the Planets has multiple features that provide the user with space
related information. The site focuses on the discovery of the solar systems, the tools of
exploration, and compares the features of the planets. The site is colorful and visually
attractive. It is easy to navigate through the features. The site uses a higher vocabulary
level and may be more beneficial to high school or college age students. However, a
teacher could use the site to increase their own knowledge to share with students and they
could use the site to show the students what planets, asteroids, and meteors look like. A
neat feature is the “comparing the planets” link. If the students want to know what
planets have volcanoes, they can click, discover, and actually see pictures of different
planet volcanoes.
