Saul’s Conversion (9:1-19)


1. How serious was Saul about persecuting Christians (1-2)? Why do you think he hated
Christians so much?

2. What happened to Saul (3-9)? What did this reveal about Saul’s actions?

3. What were Jesus’ instructions (6)? What is this similar to? Was Saul obedient?

4. What instructions were given to Ananias (10-16)? Was he obedient? Why or why not?

5. Why was the Lord so interested in Saul (15-16)?

6. What was the result of Saul’s waiting (17)?

Saul’s Early Ministry (9:19-31)


This section transitions between the beginning of Paul’s ministry and the ending of
Peter’s recorded ministry. It ties together the first half of Jesus’ mission (Acts 1:8)
and prepares the way for the Gentile mission.

1. What were the results of Saul’s preaching (21-22)?

2. How did the Jews feel about Saul and his preaching (23)?

3. What happened when Saul came to Jerusalme (26)? Who helped him? What was the
result of his ministry in Jerusalem (29)?

4. Why did the church enjoy a time of peace (31)? What were the characteristics of
this time of peace? What do “living in the fear of the Lord” and being “encouraged by
the Holy Spirit” look like? What were the results of this time of peace?

Peter is Prepared for the Gentile Mission (9:32-43)


1. What things did Peter do? What were the results? Who is he similar to and why is
this important?

2. Where is Joppa? Why is this important?

3. How do these miracles set up what is to come in chapter 10?
