Pax Americana

The terrorists on that day in September

Were not about just knocking down those towers
But trying to assure we don't remember
The mutual respect that once was ours

When friends and neighbors fight amongst themselves

Real enemies will know that we ignore them
And they can leave their bombs upon the shelves
'Cause when we argue, we do their job for them.

To call each other names like fools or liars,

Or saying some are traitorous or lazy,
Just stokes the kind of disrespectful fires
That make a person or a nation crazy.

Our conflict makes the bomb and lights the fuse.

And when that bomb goes off, we're sure to lose.
