• Materials list is typed, complete, and specific enough for someone else to gather the exact same
items. The cost analysis sheet has been completed and signed by a parent. 9 points
• One or two items are not specific enough. 8 points
• Materials list is typed, complete, and specific, but the cost analysis sheet is missing. 6 points
• Revision is needed or items are missing. 0-5 points
Procedure
• Exceptional effort and detail. 10 points
• Based on summer test trials, a procedure has been created. 9 points
• Procedure needs more detail. 6-8 points
• Procedure is missing or incomplete. 0-5 points
Evidence of summer work and test trials
• Exceptional effort and detail. 19-20 points
• Pictures or detailed notes signed by a parent show a significant amount of work completed. Also, the
self-grade is completed on this rubric, and a parent has graded the rubric and signed below. 17-18
points
• Pictures or notes signed by a parent show that a test run occurred. 10-16 points
• Some work was done. 5-10 points
• More effort was needed over the summer or binder and this rubric was handed in late. 0-5 points
Works Cited
• Exceptional effort and detail. 10 points
• Correct format is used; at least 10 authored sources are listed. 7-9 points
• Correct format is used, between 8 and 10 authored sources are listed. 5-7 points
• Incorrect format/incomplete sources/more research is needed. 0-4 points
