Datu Piang, MAGUINDANAO- A six-month old baby died while feeing on Monday, August 09 in
Barangay Montay here.

The residents of barangay Montay fed their homes when they saw MILF rebels moved around the
barangay while the OV-10 aerial bomber was meandering at around 11:00 in the morning.

Badria Sandukan, mother of the victim with her husband immediately escaped from the community but
due to fear they walked through the inundated land with their twins. Unfortunately upon reaching the
evacuation center at the municipal plaza in Datu Piang they found out that one of the twins already died.

The family right away brought the other twin to the rural health unit who is now suffering from severe
diarrhoea and vomiting.

On Monday, the Mindanao Tulong Bakwet documentation team witnessed the dropping of a bomb from
OV-10 in barangay Reina Regente and the infux of the elements of 29 th IB, Philippine Army in the area
around 1:00 in the afternoon. The team saw only one bomb dropped by the Air Force while doing the
monitoring on the aerial operation during that time. A reliable source said the operation conducted by
the Air Force is just a warning to Tata Uy forces after the latter kept on attacking and doing attritions like
harassments and sniping operation targeting the detachment of 29 th IB located at Barangay Reigna

The GRP-Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (GRP-CCCH) said the action from
the Philippine Army is merely reconnaissance considering that there were numerous on-going fghting
due to rido in different barangays of Datu Piang. However, due to this action from the Philippine Army and
Air Force the residents from Reigna Regente and neighboring barangays fed their homes and sought
refuge to Datu Gumbay Elementary School and municipal plaza.

The 29th IB, PA set up booth inside evacuation center in Datu Gumbay Elementary School to validate the
number of the IDPs who have fed their homes due to rido fghting. According to the source the
elements of the 29th IB in that booth were continuously validating the number of IDPs arriving and those
IDPs in house-based setting. They have started their monitoring and listing since Saturday, August 7. They
are opening their booth from 8:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon and at 7:30 to 11:00 in the
