Introduction

Some 2007 – 2010 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a condition where the air volume
from the defroster nozzle is less than expected. A newly designed defroster air nozzle is available
for this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY
• This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for
36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.

• Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this


bulletin.

Defroster Air Volume

Repair Procedure

1. Remove the defroster nozzle.


Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model year Tacoma Repair Manual:
• 2007 / 2008 / 2009 / 2010 Tacoma:
Vehicle Interior – Interior Panels/Trim – “Instrument Panel: Instrument Panel Safety Pad:
Removal”

NOTE
Only steps 1 – 48 (beginning of procedure through “Remove Defroster Nozzle Assembly
w/ No. 2 Heater to Register Duct”) of the Repair Manual removal procedures are necessary
to remove the defroster nozzle.

2. Install the updated defroster nozzle.


Refer to TIS, applicable model year Tacoma Repair Manual:
• 2007 / 2008 / 2009 / 2010 Tacoma:
Vehicle Interior – Interior Panels/Trim – “Instrument Panel: Instrument Panel Safety Pad:
Installation”

NOTE
Only steps 9 – 56 (“Install Defroster Nozzle Assembly w/ No. 2 Heater to Register Duct”
through end of procedure) of the Repair Manual installation procedures are necessary to
install the updated defroster nozzle.

3. Verify installation and proper defroster operation.
