This is an act providing for the
development and promotion of
Campus Journalism (CA) and other
related purpose.
   

v To uphold and protect the freedom of the


press even at the campus level

v To promote the development and growth of


CA as a means of

ƛ Encouraging critical and creative thinking, and
ƛ Developing moral character and personal
discipline of the Filipino youth.
   

v The State (through the Department of


Education) shall undertake various
programs and projects aimed at

v The SPJ is a four-
four-year course in Journalism
at the secondary level.

v It is designed to develop the learnerƞs skills


required in mass communication (journalism
and broadcast media).

v Its main focus is primarily to engage the


learners in the different activities to hone
their journalistic and broadcasting skills.

v SPJ aims to:
ƛ Identify areas of development in various aspects
of journalism/broadcast media;
ƛ Nurture talents in journalism/broadcast media
through activities requiring critical & creative
thinking;
ƛ Strengthen ethical values on responsible
journalism/broadcast media and freedom of the
press; and
ƛ Enhance their skills and competencies in
journalism/broadcast media.
