Road Accident is a most big issue during festive season like Hari Raya,
Chinese New Year, Deepavali and Christmas. Whole of nation being more
restless because road accident still didn’t decrease although there got lots of

cooperation with expressive good attitude on the road like always patient and
unselfish when driving. Not only that, people should be concerned about the
safety matter by keeping their car always safe inside and outside. Before start
the trip to going back to hometown during festive season, every people should
service their car to make sure that they will get a low risk for accident on the
road. Beside that, the public transport company should give a good cooperation
to the effort to prevent road accident especially during the festive season. They
should prepare two driver for each far trip they do, one as a back up when the
main driver get tired. Most of the road accident during festive season who
involved the public buses because the bus driver couldn’t concentrate on their
driving consequences by their sleepy and tired condition and more critically
nobody could change them to drive. For example, at 2005 the accident in Perak
several days before Hari Raya who involved 21 dead is the most frightening
accident by public transport in the history of this nation.
Government is a root for the success of any effort to preventing road
accident. Cooperation between government and media in launching campaign
will generate a consciousness by public. Media including newspaper, television,
and radio could educate people to be more careful when driving on the road
especially in the festive season. When public follow the advertisement, they will
realize that not only them which using the road, so they must be more beware to
dodge the misestimate. In present the advertisement, media not only show the
effort to consciousness public but their even educate people with the best way to
gain safety on the road and lots of safety tips. For example, people are guide to
use the safety tool on their car correctly and informed about all danger thing
which will cause the road accident. Beside the government, NGO like Petronas
like to cooperate with media to present a creative advertisement about
decreasing and preventing road accident during Festive day.
The most risk road user is the motorcycle rider, so if we want to
preventing or at least decreasing road accident during festive season we must
decreasing the number of motorcycle on the road in Malaysia. The question is
how to decreasing the number of motorcycle effectively? Firstly, the government
should improve the quality of the public transportation in Malaysia to build a
confidence and pretension of the motorcycle rider to use the public transportation
when their want to go back to they hometown during festive season. Secondly,
government must tighten the rules to take motorcycle license in this country
because when only a little motorcycle license holder exist in Malaysia directly we
will decreasing using of the motorcycle and luckily we can prevent road accident
especially during the festive season.
As the conclusion, if we want preventing road accident during festive
season we need a critical effort to see the success. Their get a lot of way to
success the effort like OPS SIKAP by Traffic Police Department, campaign by
media and government, build safe road facility, decrease the number of
motorcycle and educate people to habituate the good attitude in their driving. All
