You are advised to spend 30 minutes on this section.

Part 1
Read the text below.

Fluorine is a pale, greenish-yellow gas, slightly heavier than air, poisonous, corrosive,
and of penetrating and disagreeable odour. Its atomic weight is 18.998.
Fluorine melts at -219.61° C (-363.30° F), boils at -188.13° C (-306.63° F),
and has a specific gravity of 1.51 in its liquid state at its boiling point. It is the most
chemically active of the non-metallic elements.
Chlorine, symbol C1, is a greenish-yellow gaseous element. The atomic
number of chlorine is 17. Free chlorine does not occur in nature, but its compounds are
common minerals, and it is the 20th most abundant element in the earth’s crust.
Chlorine melts at -101° C (-149.8° F), boils at -34.05° C (29.29° F) at one atmosphere
pressure, and has a specific gravity of 1.41 at -35° C (-31° F) ; the atomic weight of
the element is 35.453.

Part 2
Read the following text and complete the given task.

Digestion includes both mechanical and chemical processes. The mechanical

processes include chewing to reduce food to small particles, the churning action of the
stomach and intestinal peristaltic action. These forces move the food through the digestive
tract and mix it with various secretions.
Three chemical reactions take place: conversion of carbohydrates into such simple
sugars as glucose, breaking down of protein into such amino acid as alanine and
conversion of fats into fatty acids and glycerol.

Based on the information in the text above, complete the graphic organizer below.
