Composers, sound artists, acoustic ecologists, and sound designers are invited to submit up to two
original works from the broad spectrum of electronic music, as well as up to two papers, posters,
demonstrations, or panel discussions that address issues of music and technology.
Music Submissions
Music submissions can include electro-acoustic works, works that combine sound and media, and sound
installations; regardless of the medium or style, utmost consideration is given to each entryʼs musical
qualities, sound artistry, and craft. Student submissions are automatically submitted to the
ASCAP/SEAMUS Student Commission Competition. Please submit all entires through the conference
web site, www.seamus2011.org.
Paper/Poster/Panel/Demo Submissions
Papers, posters, panel discussion proposals, and demonstrations must also be submitted online through
the conference web site. Authors must submit 250-word abstracts for their proposed talks or
demonstrations. Proposals for panel discussions must include a list of participants and their current
affiliations. Adjudication of submissions will be blind, and those selected for inclusion must attend the
conference to present their music/papers/panels/posters. We are particularly interested in featuring
scholarship that addresses the current status of electro-acoustic music in the broader context of American
culture.

Concerts will take place at the Frost School of Musicʼs Clarke Recital Hall (139 seats) and Gusman Hall
