Scrapbook Mania Incorporated wants you to pick one character from your award-winning or
New York Times bestseller to create a scrapbook so that the character’s experiences may live
on forever. You must pick one character and create the scrapbook as if you were that
character….Get Scrapping!
Requirements
◊ SCRAPBOOK COVER: The scrapbook cover should include the character's name,
the title of the book (underlined), the author's name and your name. Be creative as to how
you incorporate each of these elements into the cover. Illustrate the cover so it is a
reflection of the main character that created it. Scrapbook should be in a binder.
◊ JOURNAL ENTRY
Type a journal entry from the main character's point of view that gives a summary of the
book. The journal entry should include the following:
1. Write in complete paragraphs/indent paragraphs
2. Include a brief description of the following: main character, setting, major events and
conclusion (you need to use the plot terms in your entry)
3. Type on a sheet of paper and staple, glue, or tape it into the scrapbook
4. Include a date that reflects the "date" the character wrote it
◊ DIARY ENTRY
Type a diary entry from the main character's point of view that reflects the main character's
feelings about him or her. Be sure the entry includes how the character changed from the beginning
of the story to the end. Type it on a sheet of paper and put it into the scrapbook. Must include one
quote that shows how the character has changed from beginning to the end of the novel.
♦ Figurative Language (these can be your own creation or can be found in your novel or quoted
from the novel). Entry should include at least three of the following/underline these when you
type the entry out)
Simile or Metaphor
Alliteration
Personification
Magic Three
Hyphenated Modifier
Vivid Verbs
Astonishing Adjectives
***REMEMBER ALL QUOTES MUST HAVE A TAG, MUST HAVE QUOTE MARKS AROUND THE QUOTE, AND
MUST HAVE PARENTHESES WITH PAGE NUMBER AFTER THE QUOTE…. THE PERIOD GOES AFTER THE
PARENTHESES
