A 10-year-old boy from Namibia has lost his eyesight permanently after an airbag exploded in his face while he was sitting in the front passenger seat of a BMW. Airbags are designed to deploy at chest height for adults and can seriously injure or kill children, so the safest place for small children is in the back seat. Doctors say the boy's eyes ruptured on impact from the airbag and, with current technology, he will not regain his vision.

10 YEAR OLD BOY LOSES HIS EYE SITE PERMANENTLY AFTER AIRBAG EXPLODES IN HIS FACE.
Be warned: The air bag on
the front passenger side of your vehicle can gruesomely injure or kill your child.
The airbag built into your
dashboard on the passenger side is designed to deploy at the chest height of an average adult. That is why the safest place for small children is actually in the back seat.
This ten year old boy from
Namibia has been blinded permanently by an airbag that exploded in front of him whilst he was seated in the front passenger seat of a BMW.
Doctors say that the 10 year
old boy’s eyes literally ruptured on impact. Dr Jonathan Joffe who is treating the child says that this is the worst case that he has seen thus far in his career and that Emmanuel will not regain his site with the current technology that exists.
